This insect absolutely destroyed my zucchini plant and tried to destroy my cucumber plant. This is my garden tour for June 2024. All of my other flowers and plants are flourishing and it still brings me so much joy 💕 .

It looks like you may not be picking the spent blooms off your petunias. If you remove them, known as "dead-heading," the vitality and resources of the plant will go to the production of new blooms. Happy gardening.

I think you can just pinch off the flowers on the basil to keep it producing.

Your tomatoes look great! My recommendation for them is to snip off the dead/yellowing leaves so that the plant can put energy into the fruit and new growth. ❤ No idea about the yellow lady bugs…I don’t think I’ve seen them before where I live. There will always be some kind of garden pests that show up it seems.

It’s too hot now for lettuce. You can plant the lettuce when it cools down. The strawberries need more soil to run. Perhaps a large grown bag.

Hey! Your garden looks good. Here in Texas everything is burning up. Anyway, that appears to be a cucumber beetle. They will destroy your zucchini, squash, cucumber & tomatoes. Squash them asap! Good Luck

Deadhead your marigolds! Don't let them go to seed until fall. Once they start producing seeds, they "think" they don't need to flower anymore because their purpose (to propagate themselves) has been achieved. Lettuce is a cold season crop - doesn't like heat. A good organic fertilizer is from Fox Farm. Select the best ones for your crop. Edibles require a different fertilizer than flowers.

If you consistently pinch the blossoms off of your basil, the vitality and resources of the plant will go to the production of additional basil leaves.

Sis! Your garden is beautiful! Get you some food grade diatomaceous earth for those bugs. Happy gardening😉

Your patio garden looks good. A few things about your plants. Basil needs to be harvested often to prevent flowering, pinch off all the flowers and they will put out side shoots. It's not too late. Strawberries, trim off the runners, they will put more energy into the fruit. Your greestalk needs to have the soil all the way to the top of the containers. The system doesn't work properly without enough soil. For your damaged plants, remove bad leaves. If the plants are putting enery to those leaves, they aren't putting that energy into the good new growth. Trim the length of the stem too, squash stems are hollow and bugs can hide in them if left exposed on the plant.

Glad you are feeling better! My little garden is struggling in this Texas heat. I've been using fish fertilizer, banana water, and coffee. The only plants that are surviving is watermelon, cantaloup, and sunflowers. Everything else is on the struggle bus.

Is it because of the heat?
@UniquelyTish
@UniquelyTish 7 күн бұрын
@@MarriageMotherhood I think it’s a combination of heat and bugs. I’ve also been using Bt spray and diatomaceous earth. It works, but not instantly.

For the bugs, you can try Captain Jack's Deadbug (Lowe's carries the bottle). I will usually spray in the early morning or late evenings. Make sure to spray the top and under the leaves, Also, for the petunias, I would cut them back and give them a good dose of water soluble fertilizer (I use Proven Winners, but you can find Super Bloom at Lowe's). It will give the plants nice reset and they will rebloom again, Also, I like the Espoma fertilizers for the garden (Gardentone (geared toward vegetables) and Plantone (you can use this on anything..it is like a swiss army knife for fertilizing anything). Gardening is definitely a chore, but it is worth it :)

Clip the dead stuff off the tomato and zuchini. Then i would take 1 of those yellow bugs in a jar to Lowe's or home depot to find ou from them what to spray. Bummer 😂

Hi I have a question about the tier planter. For the strawberries, is that enough room for them to grow? That planter seems so tight. Just curious
