How does piezoelectric generator generate electricity. Piezoelectric disc converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Piezoelectric discs are commonly used as buzzers. When we give an AC voltage to a piezoelectric disc, it produces sound. Whereas, when we press a piezoelectric disc, it generates electricity.

Why did you need a bridge rectifier to light an LED which is a diode in itself? I would have thought you could skip the B/R and use the LED for rectification be it only half wave. Skipping the B/R should cut down on the losses in the circuit and allow a greater charge to the capacitor.

@SKILFULLIFE
@SKILFULLIFE 3 жыл бұрын
From a piezo disc, you can harvest less than 50mA and about 3V. To charge a powerbank, you need minimum 1000mA and 5.2V, So, you may need 25 - 30 piezoelectric discs in one row in series and you need 2 rows in parallel to get more than 5V. Note, all piezoelectric discs should be vibrated at the same time.

Hi, sir. Could u give some opinion? I'm doing this project. I harvest the vertical force exerted by vehicles or pedestrians to convert piezoelectricity into electricity to power up the light. But I found that it is hard to charge the battery as the current generated is too low. Do u have any suggestion to improve the charging process other than increase the number of piezo connected in parallel? Besides should I put capacitor or converter (buck/boost) before the battery due to the fluctuating voltage generated?
@SKILFULLIFE
@SKILFULLIFE 4 жыл бұрын
To get more current and voltage, you have to use multiple piezoelectric discs based on your need. But, each piezoelectric disc should have it's own rectifier. Then only, you can connect them in series and parallel to get your desired output. If you don't have rectifiers for each piezo, the power generated by one piezo disc will be consumed by another piezo disc and you can not get the maximum output.

@SKILFULLIFE
@SKILFULLIFE 3 жыл бұрын
Generating electricity from piezos by vibration of moving vehicle is possible but worthless. just wasting money and time. There are some ways to generate more electric power than piezo such as attaching a small wind turbine, solar panel, and thermoelectric generator(TEG) modules on the hot part of the engine with cooling system. Even, you can get more electric power from vehicle's alternator. Try to make a vibrator by using wind or sound energy from the environment to vibrate piezos to generate electricity.

To generate enough current from a piezo, it needs a continuous mechanical compression and decompression. Chair cushion can not give enough frequent of mechanical force continuously. If you do it so, it would take months to charge a power bank. To get a reasonable current, find something can give over 100 compression per minute at least.

Hello sir, I am working on similar project. I want to power up led strip (about 0.5 m) for 5 seconds, and I have about 20 piezoelectric modules divided in two series connected in parallel. Every piezoelectric module will be press at the same time by one step, and is it possible to achieve? If not how many piezo do I need. Should I use rectifier to every piezo to increase final current?

I would suggest to use individual rectifier for each piezo.

@@SKILFULLIFE thank you for quick response, I will try to do that way. Do you have any advise to increase harvested energy (mean current)? I think about puting one on another piezo and between some separator it should double it.

During the last part where did you put the negative end of right piezo disc? What are those rubber disc thingies called?
@SKILFULLIFE
@SKILFULLIFE 3 жыл бұрын
Piezo disc produces AC current. So, you can connect the wires from piezo disc to the rectifier in any way. Those silicone bumber pads.

I want to know why you couldn't just put that piezo disk in a VICE for constant current?

Is there not a way to mechanically vibrate a bunch of these so they generate enough electricity to store in a 12 volt car battery? The power could obviously be use to power the mechanical device that vibrates them plus it could use the excess power to power other devices.. There's gotta be a way.. Just think how many of these beauties you can stack right on top one another just far enough apart so they dont touch one another when vibrated.. We can do this for home power generators. Im amazed this is not being done yet.

Put em inside your car wheel as your driving might work...add something else inside car tyre that creates a vibration from the rotation off the wheels your noisy boy racer cars would do the job from the noise n vibration those sods make lol

Furthermore as they so thin you could go one further n build a load so they absolutely solid can take punishment and put them on the tyre itself on the outside like a line off them all the way around the tire say one long strip or lots off these round ones and they will get the pressure from the entire car pressing them down against the concrete n would create a constant charge obvs a few kinks would need too iron out but yh plenty ways I imagine...combining all these energy pottentials together into sorta one unit or units get things working in conjunction and utilise all heat n motion n vibration no need for any energy too go too waist can all be harvested I spose...was just looking at those thermo stove fans that power on from any heat source so your wood burner say n makes fan spin which you can then attach a copper coil n magnet too the fan n turn kinetic energy into electric n charge some batterys or something just utilising the heat ain't ya rather than being waisted..cherrs

@@jshaw4757 🔴 What Is Islam? 🔴 Islam is not just another religion. 🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. 🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. 🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. 🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. 🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as: 📖 { “Say, He is God, the One.
