@@troubleshooter1975 yank the top-plate with the snaps off a dead battery, add wires, presto - reusable clip. Got a multimeter running that way (and has been for years) 'cause I didn't have a clip in the junk-drawer, and didn't feel like making a run to Radio Shack. Used the top of the dead 9v battery that I was changing out (broke the wire off the original clip while trying to pull the battery, and trying to solder it back on melted the plastic the snaps were mounted on so the snap fell off - the one from the battery is some sort of cardboard/fiberboard, so didn't have that problem) with a piece of shrink-tubing, and it's just been going and going for at least 10 years now.

Just to let you know how this works - To a Burglar there are 3 levels of Paranoia. By leaving home and going to do a job raises you to Level one. The Property Protector now needs to find 2 more levels of Paranoia to send your normal burglar running - Camera's with a sign saying did you see the cameras bozo along with something to wake their mum up - enter this great little tool. 3 or more things to send a burglar paranoid and he's leaving your place and going next door. The only way this could go wrong is if your sleeping with the next door neighbour ...

Looks cool! Our first line of defense is male and female Rottweilers that are protection-trained. The male weighs 150 pounds and our trainer said that even if shot, he will take a couple bullets and still keep going due to adrenaline. Our female weighs 130 pounds. The trainer said "most perps, when they hear a large-breed dog bark, will not bother to try entering, they'll go to another house" We got them because when a perp comes in at night: 1) you have to wake up from a sound sleep 2) grab the shotgun 3) be able to shoot in the dark while still 'groggy' from sleeping The Rottweilers don't need to reach for the shotgun. They are not afraid of anything. The challenge for us is, if someone does get inside, by the time we wake up and get out to the front door, the perp might be in a bad way . .

You could also use this inside a bag/suitcase, such as at the airport. Sit your bag down on the floor, turn it on & when someone else tries to grab it, the bag/case will probably angle sideways as it's getting away, which turns on the siren due to the motion switch. Something like that.
@rickhunt3183
@rickhunt3183 Жыл бұрын
I can promise as soon as TSA see's a home made electronic device in your bag with wires hanging off it. They are going to immediately call a LEO and have you detained for questioning. You will miss your flight, and depending on how you behave and how receptive LE is. They could put you on the no fly list. The first things they are going to ask is what is this device?, Why did you make it?, and what was your purpose in using it. Expect to be detained for a couple of hours at least, and to have your device confiscated. Don't take my word for it. Just try it. Personally I wouldn't do anything that might put me on the no fly list.
@robwebnoid5763
@robwebnoid5763 Жыл бұрын
@@rickhunt3183 ... Then in that case (pun), I would be upfront & probably tell them (TSA, boarding, attendants, etc) about it. However, if you have normal electronic devices in your cases, such as cameras, ipods, electric shavers, watches, flashlights, radios & whatever, I'm sure you can also mount up a nice looking box for that motion alarm as well, so it does not look like some strange-looking device on an x-ray. And when they realize what it is & it becomes more accepted over time, perhaps airport culture can change for the better, including personal security. Of course, this does not excuse anyone not to hold on tightly to their stuff at the airport or on the streets, although it does help overall to continue strongly teaching morals, respect & ethics to kids first at home & school,for a better society.
@rickhunt3183
@rickhunt3183 Жыл бұрын
@@robwebnoid5763 Everyday people are testing TSA security. Cheese going through the X-ray machine looks just like plastic explosives. People will take a laptop and removed the batteries and fill the battery compartment with cheese and wires to see if it can get past security. Lots of everyday things are loaded with electronics. Camera lenses have lots of electrical components inside and on x-ray you don't know what it is. That alarm in the video was very simplistic and crude. I'd recommend using an AM312 to detect people and a gy-512 3 axis accelerometer and esp-8266 microcontroller to detect a package or container has moved.The 8266 will give you the ability to be notified remotely. of course you could use other microcontrollers. A raspberry pi pico with wifi would be an excellent choice also. I hope you have a great night.
@robwebnoid5763
@robwebnoid5763 Жыл бұрын
@@rickhunt3183 ... Yes, of course you can also use those things, but if it was not for the ingenuity of the minds, none of those things you listed would have come into concept & fruition, as those things also started off with the same simple design needs & wants. Something as simple & very cheap as the above homemade motion alarm is part of that technological & necessitative nature & progress. It may not sit well today with some pushing better matured, more complex &/or patented devices, but keep pushing such inventions & they too will eventually become a part of that list you mentioned & perhaps evolve into another alternative consumer item. Apart from its usage nature, this could also help some viewers start off into electronics & then perhaps those people will eventually get into the more involved circuits such as you mentioned. Curiosity first. "Hey look, my first electronic circuit, thanks to this youtube channel." The more the merrier, of both new devices & new engineers/techs/hobbyists. I remember perusing through old electronics magazines & people sending in simple circuits with low parts counts that can do simple jobs. Plus, the point here with this simple alarm is not to trick good people, but to trick the bad, whether at the airport or at home. Have a good night too.

Could you put a capacitor inline with trigger so that even if the handle is released immediately you have enough juice for 2-3sec of siren?
@troubleshooter1975
@troubleshooter1975 Жыл бұрын
Not in series; that will do the opposite! 1) It would still stop the instant the switch opens, 2) It will actually LIMIT how long it will sound while the switch is closed, 3) It will not reset, unless some sort of discharge circuitry is added... [It will not sound twice/again] You need to put a cap from the 'gate' side of the switch to the ground (neg). [across the 1M and 'lower' 1K resistors]. Coincidentally, it works out aproximately, that the value in µF works out to be how many seconds the alarm will sound, after the switch opens again... e.g. A 3.3µF will sound ~3 seconds after the switch is reset... This will depend on the turn-on voltage of the FET you use (which I did not look up). Also, you 'may' need a heatsink, as the slow turn off will heat the FET, depending on siren current and FET ratings (unless you add some additional fast turn off circuitry). Mr K L

@@caseymuni4097 "It may drain the battery in a day", didn't you work it out to check before you commented? Assuming an alkaline 9V battery with a typical capacity of 600mAH, supplying a 7555 which has a quiescent current consumption of 60uA, this would suggest close to 10k hours of standby. That's more than a year. Throw in a well designed trigger circuit, and depending on how often it goes into alarm, the working life of the battery would still seem viable to me, especially as it makes the device truly portable. Battery power is what CMOS devices were invented for.

It wouldn't make sense to put a burglar alarm on a door that was in constant use. Best to look at it from the point of view that with that setup (30 secs), it could go off 2880 times on one battery. Anyway, look up a design, evaluate it for your own purposes,and decide whether it'll do the job, or modify it so it does what you want. I'm finished here.

И вся лабуда мешает открыть дверь....Не проще концевой выключатель в створ двери, небольшой блок питания и сирена,которую даже на улицу можно вывести.

What you need to do here is make a device to slow down how you made these items as i could'nt keep up with the fast clips and i think i would'nt be on my own here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a settings button on the video, and you can change the playback speed (it even 'normalizes' the speech pitch!). On desktop; I don't know about cell phone (I would think it is there also...). You can increase the resolution too, for those times you need a clear image of details...

@@JIUNnF It is definitely NOT a hall sensor, or reed switch; there is no magnet involved here in his video. It could be a mercury switch, or some sort of tilt switch. It seemed to be the tilting, and not jiggling that closed the contacts... Of course, any of those would work or any switch that closes if someone comes in... [even a clothespin wired with something that pulls out of the jaws and closes the wires].

@@troubleshooter1975 it's a tilt sensor, there's a ball bearing inside that rolls to the two pins when tilted to complete the circuit

Do you have a circuit that if they open the door, and it breaks the connection, the alarm goes off.

You can modify this circuit to do that, sort of... 1) Put your switch across the 1MΩ resistor. This will trigger on switch opening. [move the switch and connect the two 1KΩ resistors, except you are going to change the value of one as described next]: 2) But now standby (armed) current will be ~18mA, and will drain the battery in ~33hrs. So you will need to change the 'lower' 1K resistor to maybe 470KΩ [between switch position here and the 1MΩ resistor]. It will depend on the FET specs. Whatever highest value still triggers the FET. [if you can't calculate this, find the highest value that still triggers it, and subtract maybe 10% or so, such that it will still trigger as the battery depletes and drops that much in voltage..] There are much better ways to do these trigger circuits; i.e. many comments for using a 555 IC [55 cents ea] to replace this whole circuit, or to switch the FET directly, as desired...
