It's cool for web browsing and volume control... but those Office "productivity" shortcuts are really just gimmicks. Also, everyone flipping out over the price: it's wireless, it's beautiful, it has many features. Yes it's suspiciously Apple-like but many people like me would pay the premium simply for the color matching with an MX mouse, and the minimalism it adds to a desktop.

Just got this keyboard today. Didn't even know all the options and typing on it is fantastic. As for the dial in Premiere, it's hella better than zooming and moving the mouse to get to that EXACT moment in the video you want to make a cut or insert text, so it's a total win for me just for that alone. And it's precise.

I feel like at $200 you should get so much more from this keyboard. The way it looks now, it seems like it shouldnt go passed $100. Maybe if tbey add more functions (possibly an extra dial or other dedicated media controls), improved battery, adjustable inclination, and a more premium build, only after things like that ill consider it to be justified at $200

+Angery Its not all about the speed. Personally its about the feed back that you get, i garuantee that I can type at about the same speed on every keyboard that has the same layout because that is what im used to, but if its linear its harder to feel when it activates, same with some rubber domes. Also i notice some fatigue when i use my keyboard at work that I have not encountered at home. Granted at home in not typing numbers and emails for hours at a time.

You don't really need a mechanical keyboard to have the same performance. I use Logitech Silence professional lineup of wireless keyboards and they offer the same or even better gaming performance and daily tasks. Only thing is the larger foot print. Same goes with their MX revolution / performance mices vs something like their g700.

I need this keyboard. Although I agree with you with the symbols on the keyboard (eg: cmd | alt), I have to say this is incredibly useful because I'd use just like my MX3: cross platforms (Mac & Windows). I've seen some other iterations, but this seems to be the one it delivers it better.

@kornkernel2232
@kornkernel2232 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Logitech should just use the built-in Windows Dial API which makes Logitech job easier and have more apps compatible with it, actually any app that will use Windows Dial API. There is really no need to have proprietary solution on Windows anyways, on Macs yeah since there seems to be no built-in feature on macOS for dial-type peripherals. Also even better to have fingerprint scanner too for Windows Hello authentication. There is so much space they can add stuff without making it ugly. Like you've said, I rather get a mechanical and Surface Dial instead of this. I like the look of this keyboard, but the price with its limited proprietary functionality is a bummer. It doesn't even come with detachable palmers.

I think they have to include that anyway for Windows version that doesn't have the dial API (8.1 and below). But still, they should make use of native dial API whenever available. Hope they include it in later firmware updates, it would make it much more worthwhile.

Preordered it about a week ago. The dial seems like a pretty cool little gizmo, sure. I'll probably end up using it quite a lot. But the main reason I bought this keyboard is because it just looks amazing. I'm a sucker for great industrial design, and no other company designs peripherals quite as well as Logitech. All those "gaming" keyboards usually look like something from a prepubescent kid's wet fantasy (complete with multicolored RGB backlighting) This thing, on the other hand, is simple, minimalistic, but at the same time packed with features. Also, it'll look amazing next to my new 34" HP Envy curved All-in-One. Can't wait till October!

I would like to see customisation to the functionalities of the knob. Adding your own macro's for specific programs (including the little menu at the bottom of the screen) would make this keyboard so much more useful. I currently use a Steelseries Apex gaming keyboard for the macro's so I can macro code blocks for work. The Logi Craft fits my personal style preference more. If they add that then it's worth its price imo. Not saying that it's worth it for everyone, but seeing as it is targeted at professional life (imo) more than personal, I think customising macro's will justify the price tag, but only with complete customisation, so including the little menu.

You don't need to have a big keyboard to have a mechanical keyboard. These do not go hand-in-hand. If you were to say that "gaming" keyboards are big, than yes - I would agree that they are in fact generally larger but this is only due to their added features(Volume/Macro keys for example which take up more real estate) My G413, and Vara keyboards both have a an identical footprint as a standard membrane keyboard.

I just meant the big, loud keys that sound (and feel) like they were made in 1980 to me. I just prefer the feel of a thin keyboard, like this one or even the Apple's keyboards. I've been using a big and clunky rgb Razer keyboard lately and I just can't get used to it, so I'm in the market for something more like this.. but this is just too expensive for what you get.

For 200 dollars this is retarded it is a 30 dollar keyboard with a dial that should be seperate if you think about it. Most creators are already accustomed to the hardware and dont have the time or just don't want to change their keyboard cause the paid a lot of money for it. What I think Logitech should have done is take the knob like they have in the z333 and put the features that they have in the dial on the keyboard in there priced at around 50 dollars because there is nothing really like this on the market. This would give people the flexibility they would want and make it a great product. Sorry for the rant but I had to say this. 😰

Really interested in this keyboard. Love that it has USB C. Are you able to connect it to your computer via USB C or do you have to use the dongle/bluetooth. Also has there been any good updates to the eyboard for the Adobe apps since you made this vid?

The switching between PCs sounds cool. Does this also work when you connect one PC via bluetooth and another one directly using the unifying dongle? Also does the MX master or any mouse allow you to do that? Because only switching the keyboard over does not make that much sense :D At least for my uses, that is

You need to try one. I bought a regular Microsoft keyboard and couldn't live with it. I trialled the Craft for a week and it needs to be used to be fully appreciated. It's £145 in the UK and I've gone with it. Most people won't care but, if it matters, it's hard to find anything better.

My feedback in my review was that while only the upper part is metal, the plastic is premium plastic. It at least feels good. And my jumps on the keyboard did not do any damage to it. (yes, I actually was standing on the keyboard) It does lightly bend in middle though. The battery life is certainly not premium though!

For “measuring” speed/accuracy of keyboards I would suggest trying a typing speed measuring tool. Testing different keyboards should somewhat measure a difference in accuracy/speed with even a remedial tool like that.

The multi label keys to the left and right of the space bar ARE confusing - especially having switched from Mac to Windows very recently. A quick glance is not enough when learning the new Windows shortcuts, it takes a careful look every time I want to hit them (which, when editing for multiple hours, results in a broken creative train of though). However, the feel of this keyboard is much closer to my previous iMac, in terms of being low profile, soft and even. I am just getting to know this creative dial, and it is the ultimate reason I bought it. Great review, thanks for your help!

I am sorry that you haven't mentioned the active dial feedback - to be more precise the mode shift from "digital" (when controling the chrome tabs) to "analog" (when setting volume)... I love it!

If it works with Lightroom, Yes. I had X-Touch Mini for the LR but didn't like extra wires laying on my desk. I'm thinking press and turn lets you choose which LR sliders you would like to adjust, that would be great. Until I see someone able to do that on this keyboard I'm holding out.

I thought the whole top part would be touch sensitive and do something (like you could tap or slide your finger across it), turns out all it has is also a great description for whoever made it, a touch sensitive knob.
