Trying to figure out why it's a doomstack is pointless. It's a doomstack because they think they're a doomstack.

Since he's playing Broken Axe, I'm guessing a lot of the wasted skill points were made by the AI before he confederated Wurrzag.

The crummy point distribution on wurrzag is probably from confed.

A few comments from the person who sent it in: -I created a doomstack test environment, since the lizardman forces are trapped in and dont dare to attack. With food buffs every army can be recruited in 2 turns. -It was intended to wait for them to group up and not use magic so that it is a real challenge -I sent in 4 more doomstacks (nasty skulker, arachnarok spider (maternal instincts) , rock idols (85% physical resistance by food and waahhg) and stone trolls) to fight against basically the same army, you can perfectly compare them to each other then. -Stone trolls get absolutly destroyed if they would face this enemy army. (I rebuild that army exactly and sent it in aswell) -Wurrzag is shitty because of the confed. Since i have no unit upkeep reduction it shows how cheap this army can be with Wurzzag. -I have 2 more doomstacks in planning: 90% physical res banshee spam and plague monks. (but need to get the campaign to the points where i can buidl that.

This combined with the stone troll doom stack shows that the Greenskins can have one effective doomstack in a campaign with Wuzzag under Broken Axe.

The important part is that you get a stupid high charge bonus with savage orcs. So if you abuse that (and properly cycle charge) you can melt literally everything.

Just a note, Wuurzag's Waaagh also gives additional Physical Resistance 22%! So these guys are at the absolute cap when waaagh'd for Physical resist.

I finished a Grimgor campaign yesterday, and I think their economy is really underrated, especially once you get to the late game. While they won't be making as much tax money as other races, they make more money from post-battle loot and from looting/sacking settlements than almost any other race. About halfway through the campaign I reached the point where I was able to build every building possible every turn and still have money left over. The only other race I tend to ever reach that point with is Dark Elves.

ok, so story time, in my grom campaign, last defenders tried to start a feral carnosaur doomstack, they got to 8 and thought that would be enough to kill me, they were wrong, my gobbo crapstack kicked their asses. the end

Wurrzag can make lots of doomstacks. I prefer the stone trolls over this as it's better against magic attacks. The trick is to make doomstacks with the standard Greenskin lords. (Best is probably Arachnarok spam)

Grom's cauldron is just so good with Ork doomstacks.

Isn't this Army's main glaring weakness magic attack though? The moment they meet an army with a lot of magic attack (Cylostra gives her entire army magic attack for example) they will probably melt.

Haha this one reminds me of that time I used a similar stack with Wurrzag in a battle against Grimgor. Couldn't win it with autoresolve (was in Grimgor's favour highly) so tried playing it, just barely lost. Then I was thinking "I tried blobbing with Vampire Counts lately, couldn't it work here?" So I blobbed up my boyz with Wurrzag in the middle and casted stomp until we won, was hella funny lmao

Love it when people bring simple and cheap doomstack on the table. Make grinding for it much, much easier.

About the 20% physical resistance bonus that you can find in the sea, Greenskins can get it too. I had a Rogue Idol doomstack that reached the physical resistance cap with it (as Grom, because he boosts Rogue Idol with his recipie). Also... *WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!*

Orcs with scrap upgrades are way better than people think! Glad to see them getting love :)

Troll Hag for the extra replenishment would be good since there's so many models in the big un' stack.

16:20 Going against an all-magical attack army is also cool with Wurrzag because one of his skills strip the enemy army of all magical damage and bestow magical damage on his own units.

i can see the potential in this although you have to play as Grom to get the cauldron effects. which is probably why Wurrzag is leveled up wrong, since he probably confederated him and he was already leveled a bit up.

You have access to regenerating, frenzied, opportunistic murder nasty skulkers with perfect vigor as Broken Tooth, that work well with Generic Gobo Shaman lords. Those are much better because Skulker will just climb over walls or flank and surround field armies and kill any enemy with a powerful "winning combat" and "stronger faster enemies nearby" leadership debuff loop. Much better at murdering single entities. And they are cheap and numerous with easy Turn 3 early game recruitment for the base unit and these units just get upgraded to be in near final as you get different ingredients, research, red line, waagh trophies, etc. Late game you can literally have as many stacks of them as you want with the Shaman on the spider being siege attacker and caster.

Wurrzag was badly leveled up, probably because he confederated well into the campaign.

honestly as bloody handz savage orcs are a doomstack without wurrzag, they get powerful missile resist scrap upgrades an have even higher charge. you can also get the lizardmen waaaagh trophy relatively easily which throws it over the edge even more.

Im pretty sure the way resistance works is that when damage is received it goes in order of highest resistance first to lowest. In this case im pretty sure the 65% phsyical resistance reduces the damage and then after the new damage is calculated then the 8% ward save reduces that new number further and then you're left with whatever after that point.

This is peek ork logic, we have achieved monke' brain, in ways I cannot comprehend.

I've had the AI use this exact doom stack against me before when I was playing Dwarves. It was still early game so the best thing I had was long beards. Wurzag walked right through me and sacked all my cities. I thought damn, I'm starting a campaign and copying the AI. Got crushed by the first goblin army I came up against and rage quit.

I've used this doomstack many times, I feel validated now haha

Not to mention you can make them cost 0 to recruit and its available very early in the game, only requires a T3 settlement. I find the best way to use savage orcs is to put them in a locked line formation and just charge straight in, try to get as many 1v1s going as possible, because they just hit so hard.

This is why I love savage orcs, especially with wurrzag.

In your opinion, which scrap upgrade would you put on the savage orcs? They seem to kill well enough without the weapon upgrade, so I usually but the missile resistance on it.

Well... This is a Broken Axe campaign. To get Wurrzag you gotta confederate and by the time you can reach him as Grom he's gonna be like at least lv. 15 already. So I dunno if this can all be blamed on choices the person who made that stack made.

A Greenskin army has to fight. It HAS to! That is the purpose, that is the only way to get them to work. 110% aggression at all times, even when it seems completely pointless. There always is a point, and that point is always Waaaargh!! Orc armies are annoyingly difficult to manage, however, once you point them in the right direction they can be unstoppable.

I think the wasted points was the AI before he confederated him, ive seen the AI LOVES to stack points into the red tree

Chances are he confederated Wurrzag with shit skills.

Most factions doomstacks: 10 fighting units with 9 heroes with specific traits and 1 commander to buff them. Ork Doomsack: 1 Wurzag + 19 Wild Ork Big Uns. Waaagh simpler, Waaagh harder! BTW, Zerkovich recently did a "who is the best" low tier melee infantry. Orks won absolutely. If you do not like melee Infantry, you do not like Orks by default. But that also explain why they are so strong against you.

Other thing that's missing is defence against mass artillery. If this army was against 6 helstorm rocket batteries it would've been very painful unless wasting all their ammo on wurrzag

On Legendary VH the primary concern of a doomstack needs to be upkeep. That's why I give this one 11/10. Morathi and 19 heroes for like 500 total army upkeep is 12. It's why I use a mostly Corsair stack with Felhart into the late game. My LL fields my worst army but it can hold it's own 1v1 and is cheap as chips

LegendofTotalWar: Prejudice against Melee units only because the Very Hard Battle Difficulty is broken and makes melee worthless. They're perfectly fine when not facing super heavy buffed enemies in a lower battle difficulty. Legendary Campaign and Normal Battle Difficulty is a better way to play until they fix Very Hard Battle Difficulty.
