Thank you for choosing my video! I'm thrilled to have you on board as I've created this channel to assist fellow golfers in their quest to master the game. Learning golf can be quite a challenge, but don't worry - I'm here to provide guidance and support.
In my early days of learning, I too faced the struggle of improving my game. Despite diving into books and videos, progress seemed elusive. Through years of dedicated study of swing biomechanics and testing various techniques, I've developed a systematic approach to mastering the golf swing.
On this KZfaq channel, I deliver cutting-edge training that's currently yielding real results for my clients. Regardless of where you stand in your golfing journey - whether you're a beginner, dealing with flexibility concerns, or aiming to lower your handicap - this platform is designed to cater to your needs. It's a community where you can learn, exchange ideas, ask questions, and find the support required to relish this wonderful sport.
Be prepared for an authentic journey. If you're looking for quick fixes, I might not be your ideal source. Instead, I offer step-by-step guidance that you can directly apply on the practice range and course. It demands dedication, embracing mistakes, consistent practice, and the joy of watching your scores progressively improve.
With the privilege of coaching thousands of students worldwide, I'm excited to extend the challenge to you. If you're ready to step up and dive into the game, let's embark on this journey together!

Which part do you need to work on the most? Backswing, downswing or release?

Excellent "split hand drill" Giles that serves so many different purposes. I like this drill plus the reverse hand drill which also shows how the arm structure should be in the golf swing. Your suggestion of the ice hockey players "slap shot" is also a good one to work on! Well Done Giles! Keep up the good work!!

Back to target at the top of the swing has given me more distance and consistency. The split hand grip drill is in my top 3 of golf drills.

Downswing, I am starting to implement the bring the hands down/hit from the inside into my swing (and trying to convince myself I'm not casting/throwing the club). I also need to warm up better, because I tend to be a bit timid the first few holes on all aspects of the swing. I also tend to get fatigued the last few holes so I lose the width/go back to bad habits.

I need to work on the width at the top! My trail hand is usually behind my trail thigh at shaft parallel which I assume is casting and getting stuck due to a flying elbow like you describe at the start. I'll be giving all this a try!

Is tucking in that trail elbow during downswing different from "throwing down the club with hands", and side bend? Also, would tucking in trail elbow move come natural if i have internal forearm rotation during backswing, or should i do it manually each swing?
@Gilesgillgolf
@Gilesgillgolf 2 ай бұрын
I would never tuck the trail arm as that usually means you are holding the angle in that trail for far too long. Instead you want to focus on getting the elbow and rush hands down in front of the right hip

Hi Giles, ive recently tried using less of my arms and keeping them passive whilst adding more chest and body rotation. Letting the arms/club drop in to the slot and the firing the chest. As opposed to throwing the arms at the golf ball, even with getting in to the slot. Is more of the body rotation something you advocate for? Ps. Great video as always

I think I’ve always been confused by this because people have said never lift your trail arm in the backswing,but you have to some to get that wide feeling right?
@Gilesgillgolf
@Gilesgillgolf 2 ай бұрын
It’s physically impossible to have a good backswing without lifting your trail. it has to lift a certain amount. The key is that you don’t want the elbow to go excessively high to wear the tricep goes above parallel to the ground.
