If you think all cats are the same, you are sorely mistaken. Each one has its own whims and habits, as unique as the iris pattern. For example, a cat named Steve accidentally found out that he adores sweaters - and now a sweater is like a second skin for him.

As an older cat (senior) he still has many years of love left in him. I as an older person now and I wear a sweater too. I too understand why an 18 year old cat would want to wear his sweater.

My cat Bliss died in October, age 26, my other cat Daisy is 18. So yes, he may have many years left.

It’s my scarf I love. My dog senior dog likes his vest. It’s not exactly warm where we are, like the cat we too have arthritis lol.

@@mathgasm8484 awe sooo funny. @ night my cats always lay tight against my legs 2 suck out the warmth from my body. When I come back 2 bed I have 2 squirrel n squirm my way back in bed. I'm always telling m u remember this is my bed my home n I feed u. They don't care they still do it. THEY know I love m n won't get rid of m. I call m my spoiled snot nose lttl brats. UR just 2 cute my lttl baby girls. When I talk bout my girls n I'm not home people think I'm talking bout 2 daughters. Well... Yes they're my girls daughters. They just have fur n 4 legs pointed ears n whiskers. My baby girls. Kiss kiss kiss love kiss mooch!!!

I fixed a special box for my 17 year old tabby Fiona to sleep in. Its a milk crate on its side, with the sides insulated with cotton wool. I crocheted a cushion with thick squishy yarn for her to sleep on and covered the box with an old tablecloth for privacy and block out the light. Its her favorite spot now. She has chased my older, stronger cat out of that box. Its HERS alone.

Charming old gentleman indeed.They need heat Their body temperature is two degrees higher CELSIUS than ours.And he looks so beautiful ❤️ Why do we always think that ONLY dogs are supposed to wear clothes in cold times.Hes smashing.

The sweater is such a comfort to him. I'm glad you provide him this comfort for his aches in his old age. In our cold winters it gets cold down on the floor and with drafts. When I pet my 14-year old tabby Lulu at night, I notice that her back is cold. She gets a Solencia shot monthly from the vet for her arthritis. Steve looks like a dear. Blessings to you both.

Steve is precious and fortunately chose the PURRFECT owner to love and pamper him. I love how she anticipates his needs and protects his comfort. He is spoiled! As he should be.....give the man a sweater! He adores her and loves her SO much. I had a sweet boy Floyd who was my soul cat. From the moment we met he literally jumped through hoops to get my attention. He followed me everywhere, sat on my lap while I worked, slept cuddled with me and was waiting by the door when I returned home. He would gaze into my eyes and you could just see how much he loved me. Floyd would go on hunger strike when I went out of town. He just wanted to be with me. He would come running excitedly, whenever I called belly swaying in older years. I called him my velcro kitty. Sadly I lost him in February at 17 but he was SO special. Having an unconditionally loving companion like this sweet boy makes life SO much better! May you have many more years together Sister & Sweater Steve!

There is no doubt that the reason your beloved Floyd lived a long, healthy and joyful life of 17 years was because of your constant and unwavering love for him in the course of his precious life with you. Being a cat lover, I very well understand how hard it must have been for you to have lost your beloved and precious Floyd, but you can take comfort from the fact that your precious darling Floyd had a long and joyful life with you for those unforgettable 17 years. I have no doubt that your precious darling Floyd has impacted your life in that very special way that has made you to be a much more loving, caring and affectionate person than you were before you had him. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder and so it is my belief that your intense love for your precious darling Floyd in the course of his blessed life has, contrarily, made you love him even more inspite of the fact that he is physically not with you today. Strange as it is. One day you will meet your precious darling Floyd in that Great Somewhere where there will be no more tears of a sorrowful farewell. Our babies never die, they just wait for us on the other side. Please accept my very sincere heart aching condolences on the loss of your precious darling pussy cat, Floyd.

My 19 year old Baby passed a few days ago. I’m certainly aware of how thyroid disease, which she had medication for, and arthritis affect these aging kitties. I miss her so much😢❤

While 18 is a bit above the average for indoor cats, they made it sound like it was really rare. My last cat was 20 when she was diagnosed out of the blue with stage 4 cancer on her liver and pancreas. The cat before her lived to 23 before having to be put to sleep from kidney failure and hyperthyroidism. And the world record for cats is 36, which really makes 18 seem not very old.

Pussy cat Steve maybe a senior cat, but he will always be a baby to his owener. All cats, young, middle aged and elderly are pussy cat babies to their owners and to us cat lovers. Senior cats need to be loved just as one would love young kittens; there will always be that special childlike plauful innocence in elderly cats as there would be with kittens and young cats. Let us love our senior cats with the same level of human affection as as we would for kittens and cats of all ages.

Having his sweater on many have another meaning to him. It is a sign of ownership. We took in a stray pregnant cat over 30 years ago. We put a collar on her and she was happy. As it was a flea collar it needed replacing every 4 months. When we took it off to replace it, she would meow and meow and whine until we put the new one on. Then it was purring and headbutts for the next day.. Her daughter was the opposite, when the collar came off, she ran off, being happy that the collar was off her neck and the bird bell was silent. Once hers was on, she would ignore us for the next couple of days.

Steve is just adorable in his outerwear - a nice selection of fashion colors. Steve looks mah-velous 😻 I do hope if Steve is still with the sweet woman, that when she goes away on business - Steve being very sensitive - I hope he has someone with him all the time - he's too up in years to leave alone. for any length of time. He's too precious 💖

Oh I love tabbies. I lost my girl when she was 18. I think about her every day and feel lucky that in my life I have had wonderful pets and that I love animals. Without animals I would not be here. Steve is so cute. 😊

Hmm, this may be a "Steve" thing, allow me to explain... My name is also Steve and I am a hooman that lives in Pennsylvania and I too absolutely adore a comfy sweater once fall comes knocking. I have a favorite sweater that I love to knock around the house in, it's a bit tattered and has seen better days, but I misplaced it one cool morning and I can say that I, much like thus kitty, protested and a few tears came to my eyes. Thankfully I found my beloved sweater and I don't let it outta my sight if I can help it. LOL, I sent this kitty's clip to friends and family and they all thought I had someone make this video to match my story and I told them all, nope it was found on my feed in my YT page. LOL. We've all had a good chuckle about the similarities of kitty and myself, if the owner of kitty sees this, maybe she can tell him that there's a hooman with the same name as him that has an affinity for his favorite sweater too. And kindly give kitty a hug and a peck from one sweater lover to another. ❤ This is a true story, and I jus had to tell it to those willing to take the time to read it. Each kitty has their own unique personality which makes them special. I have had many over the the last 50 years. Now I have 3 plus one visiting boy whose family is in the neighborhood next door. We finally agreed with his family that we would be his grandparents and he could come visit every day. Steve is very adorable 🥰

Love the pics of Seve with his owner. Very cute. Very clever to give heating for the arthritis. I think that is what has kept him active, even in cold weather.
