I don't know who did the casting for M.A.S.H., but they deserve every accolade possible. William Christopher was simply amazing as Father Mulcahy, along with everyone else in their respective roles.

Father Mulcahy perfectly explained the meaning of the Eucharist here. Beautiful.

Thanks for reminding us what television, writing, and acting, could be. That may be the most meaningful sermon a lot of people hear.

I watch mash all the time. I absolutely ❤ this show and the movie . I actually put mash on every single night as for some reason it calms me.

When I first saw this episode. I was clueless to its meaning. Cause death was never knocking at my door. And when it came knocking O was like a new born learning to let those around me protect me.. As I also knew they needed protection . than I causally saw this episode again on MEtv and it hit hard .. To the point I had tears in my eyes ..

I still remember watching this when it originally broadcast, definitely one of the more powerful later episodes. It's a sad twist of reality that Patrick Swayze later succumbed to pancreatic cancer, may he rest in peace.

I understand, I'm a retired Air Force and Vietnam veteran. Hopefully you're seeking out some of the VA programs that address PTSD. Good luck.

Yes, the man succumbed to pancreatic cancer. I still miss him, especially for his role as Jed in "Red Dawn."

One of the greatest episodes.

One aspect of this show that made it so much better than just about anything we have today was that it was respectful of religion. Today's shows would probably mock Father Mulcahy as a misguided, if well meaning man.

We stand with you, Brother, and in our prayers. Remember, we have fought the good fight, we have run the good race. This time will pass. Til then, I pray you find real peace. My father had it, I have it. We are a special group.
