It’s true the rents just gone up crazy in my city after an influx of these digital nomads. It displaces lower class income folks like me and my family. But I get why our government do it cuz of the tax revenue and to grow the economy. But locals now have to move further away or into a smaller place.

Mexico City government started this a week ago with a official partnership with Airbnb. Digital nomads have already started taking up rentals here in the past two years and housing prices have soared especially rental properties. It's going to get worse unfortunately. My problem is those digital nomads basically all stay in the same part of town and don't even social or connect with the locals and refuse to even learn basic Spanish. I hope they all go back to where they came from!

Yeah but it’s ranked 1 in terms of net wage and Portugal is poor in comparison so everything is cheaper

I can see that in India we could also implement this digital visa thing . But we need to manage the number of visa we offer a year to we can use this to increase the local income of villages by restricting them to buy in middle class area buy houses in big cities or a village a developer, I think it would like to stay in my village if i have , 24hr electricity internet and transport facility eg well built road, i would never leave my village.

Generally nomad visas can not. Im investigating it (for fun) right now, and that’s my conclusion.

@@Ravii931The only country that I know of would be Spain. The Digital Nomad Visa is granted for 1 year. After moving to Spain, an applicant can apply for a residence permit. The initial residence permit is valid for 3 years and can be extended for extra 2 years. After five years of living in Spain, a digital nomad can apply for permanent residency. Edit: To qualify for the Spain digital nomad permit, you must show that you can support yourself and your family when you move to Spain. You must demonstrate a minimum income of €2,160 per month or €25,920 annually, with varying requirements for families and dependents.
