Sadly, the church is doing all the moving's in the church, demon's don't have to destroy a church, "so called prophets, apostles" are doing a great job of it themselves! When Jesus said it is finished, it was! We have the bible as the Apostle of today, Jezebel died and her spirit is in hell. These "prophet's" are leading thousands on to the wide path, not a word on God's word but playing his own tune like the pied piper, seeking feelings instead of Christ! Wonder where was HE while this man wasted the time preaching about himself instead of repentance, self examination, hidden sins, Godly living 24/7? That's what leads on to the narrow path, not their books! Flee please!

@@Michael-le5phno, it’s not enough. We can never stop striving, pressing further. Getting strengthened in the Holy Ghost. It’s not just about OUR salvation. It’s about the salvation of others too. We were given a commission to go and be fishers of men. To follow Jesus. Too many have the mentality “I’m saved. I’m good.” And slip into complacency (I’ve been guilty of this as well.) If we truly are following the heart of God, we won’t be satisfied with our own salvation, but seek to bring others to salvation as well. Moves of God help keep us full of the Holy Ghost which equips us with the power we need to win the lost. But I think the better point would be, if you’re truly in love with God, why wouldn’t you want to experience moves of his Spirit?

Sometimes we see in part and prophecy in part...Sometimes things can be interpreted a little different than someone else may interpret. Example; When different prophets of the Bible explained things of the future, they didn't know what to call what they were actually seeing. Example; airplanes, automobiles, trains, guns, etc...

We were in a vietnamese one recently and they were active in talking about persecution of a certain yoga-sect in china. We invited them to our local Vietnamese ministry (abig church) to let them pray over them for freedom of their people and holy spirit. They said " ah we don't pray...". But we gave them the number to the Vietnamese pastor.

Because Christians are also persecuted in china. Anyways it's east Germany and we have more connection to the Vietnamese as there are many who came here after/during the war in communism/gdr...

Prophesying is not simply (or even predominantly) foretelling, but forthtelling - speaking in agreement with the written Word. The Great Commission given to everyone is to share the Gospel and diffuse the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ through our normal interaction wherever we go. Scripture never teaches we must prepare and to wait to "hear a word" of prophesy. We already have prophesy within us if we are studying and living according to the Holy Scriptures. I worry that some want to exercise gifts so much that we miss opportunity after opportunity to be used by God to draw them to Christ in every ordinary daily interactions. The woman who was instrumental in my salvation isn't even aware of the seed she planted that the Holy Spirit used many years later to get me reading the Word which moved me from false conversion to illumination concerning God as Father and my true spiritual condition when brought me to genuine godly sorrow and repentance inspired me to a saving faith In scripture, God's prophetic utterances always "came upon" everyone who received them. No one has to practice or feel something in preparation. Neither are we to wait for perfect moments to begin ministering grace and truth to others as tomorrow is not promised and the Holy Spirit is always working. We need to recognize that as ministers of reconciliation, we are always ready for God's use in any interaction. It does not have to look spiritual, sound prophetic or feel a certain way. The conversation that God used in my conversion was centered around my love of soap operas. The woman was inspired to mention that if I wanted to receive the same excitement and intrigue but from TRUE stories, I should begin to read the Old Testament. I didn't pay her much mind, but the seed was obediently planted. Years later, while bed bound with a hip injury and looking for a lengthy novel to keep my mind occupied. The Holy Spirit suddenly illuminated the woman's words which led me to begin reading the bible for real for the first time ever starting with Genesis. The rest was my salvation testimony. God not only showed me Himself as Father and Savior but also showed me my rebellious unconverted self through the antics of Israel. This is the type gift Paul was referring to when he stated that he wished all believers would prophesy. ❤

If the gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist etc were given to the church and the gifts have ceased then we also have no need for the pastor, teacher and evangelist either. We shouldn't just pick and choose which gifts to make irrelevant and that is what the doctrine of cessationism does. God put them in place. In Revelation in the letters to the 7 churches around 90 AD the church was told to test which apostles and prophets (prophetess in this case) were false. So there were still apostles and prophets to be tested even at that time in the church when there was only 1 of the Jesus' 12 apostles left at that time, John. The gifts are still active in the church today in their roles because the church is still being matured and equipped. The gifts of the Spirit were given to the church. Paul wanted all of the Corinthians to understand them and pursue them. If you want to experience the fullness of the Spirit and God's gifts to you to help minister to others more effectively and know Him better you will need to accept that his words in Corinthians are for you too. `Reject what is false and keep what is good. The experiences happened by the Spirit in Acts and His will and they still do.

A prophet today is not like it was in the OT yes and a prophet today can not tell us what todo. In the OT YES if a prophet spoke you best listen.
