Sleep Token is unlike any other band. They don't have a genre, switching from metal to R&B to funk to jazz to classical, etc... You need to listen to Ascensionism, Granite, Take Me Back To Eden, Alkaline, Chokehold, .... just go through the entire trilogy of albums. They're all bangers.

I think this is exactly what music should be about as well. A story, a Journey, not always a chorus with 2 segments only in "your" genre. You shouldnt be fenced into a genre but rather a good "storyteller"

Sure, the story across the trilogy could resemble the story of Lucifer and Lillith, but so does just about every tragic and toxic love story. What I see is someone dealing with a lot of emotional pain and trauma, expressing it through his music, and the mask allows him to be vulnerable enough to channel that emotion into beautiful music. It's highly philosophical and theological, but I don't get a satanic vibe.

Subbed for Sleep Token. My favorite song is Ascensionism. You mentioned not knowing what they look like. They wear masks and prefer privacy. Singer is Vessel, drummer is II and then there is III and IV. III and IV only go on tour. Vessel writes and plays all parts except drums when recording. Worship!!!

Subbed just for Sleep Token. The best way to experience them is to start from the beginning. Even if you don't jump into the EPs right away, starting with Sundowning and listen all the way to Euclid. P.S.... ..look up the lore of the band on Wikipedia....and pull the lyrics up from Google to read along to as sometimes the videos with lyrics are not 100% correct. The lyrics are essential! Best lyricist I've heard in a long time.

It’s a God of War vessel lead singer (LF) is into the Devines and Talos that why the band members are II III IV as that is how the gods are labeled there are 9 Devines. Talos is the God of Governance,war and the Hero god of MAN and is one of the 9 Devines. When he sings “A taste of the Devine” meaning a taste of being a great, a god.

When I first started listening to them last year (The Summoning was my first song also) I thought his voice sounded a little like BB also. But then he hits those high notes and BB doesn't do that 😂.
