I understand why you want to keep Tex as a memory, but I personally couldn’t do it or have him hanging in my living room 😂, It just creeps me out when I see animal heads mounted on walls, but I suppose that’s a thing if you’ve been used to seeing things like that in your life it’s a normal thing to do 💖 You’re doing the right thing when folks are at the church especially the kids as they don’t always see the danger that could be there, Good Job helping the church get rid of the rubbish, I remember when you were doing the fences a load of the men came and helped you put a part of it up, that was really kind of them to do that, it’s good to have neighbours who help each other out 🥰

I am in awe of Tex. He’s just so…majestic! Realistically, you do need the roosters. They not only fertilize the eggs, they also protect the hens and chicks. I had a friend that had deer heads mounted on all the walls of the living room. It would not be what I’d do, but,Tex is yours and, you can do whatever you want to do, with him. I have to be honest, the one thing I fear with you getting Longhorn Lester’s is that someone will try to steal (or worse kill) the gorgeous STUD that isTex. I’m sure you’ve considered all of that and will have proper measures in place, but it’s still a worry of mine.

I go to bed very late and am up by 5 am every day unless I’m not feeling well. As much as I love animals, I could never have any of my babies stuffed. I prefer to maintain their memories in my thoughts, photos and videos.

I absolutely loved this video from the start, talking about your beautiful Tex, to the needing bigger roosters for the larger ladies, to feeding your babies. But most of all I love how you see people in need of a little help and you were right on it, offering your tractor and flat bed trailer as well as offering to get rid of the rubbish for them. You often thank us for all the gifts and goodies and that you feel spoilt receiving them, but this is why we do that. Your heart is just so big, you have love for not just your human family, or your animal family, but you have love for helping your community when needed. This shows the type of person you truly are. i like the Longhorn Lester ending. It is nice to be a good neighbor and be reciprocated. This is not something one sees in larger populated areas such as the big cities much anymore. This is where speaking spanish is good, you can impress upon the adults the danger that Carl may pose for serious injury so they in turn can remind the children. They know you care and are not just being unkind.

I was always surprised when I first started watching that you allowed people from the church to visit. I thought, wow, I wouldn't do that. It's kind of hard to break habits once they've started.

My great aunt had her favorite milk cow's hide skinned and mounted as a tapestry. I probably heard many of the family stories for the first time petting and looking at that preserved cow hide. Heck I even made some new family stories in the presence of that hide.

Thank you for being the kind of person you are. You would be amazed at what we do with an acer here in Tn. Growing up we had our house, a chicken pen with over 20 chickens, a big sow and a cow. Later on the cow had a calf and Sally the sow had 9 piglets. Of course the chicken kept multiplying but that was our mini farm. We rented property across the road and had a garden and 2 horses. At the time there was 3 of us kids in 4-H or the scouts. Me and 2 of my 3 brothers. My baby brother was born 8 yrs after the last one so he wasn’t in school. By the time he went to school I was married and had a baby of my own. Anyway, love y’all ♥️❤️🥰

With all the amount of wood scraps and trimmed branches that the sanctuary deals with often, having an actual firepit somewhere on the property would be a nice addition. Late night talks by a fire, especially in the Fall or even Winter season would be fun. I suggest this after viewing your anniversary video by the open fire yesterday. It would be a nice project to work on with LE and Jake. Just make it sturdy and animal safe!

For the roosters, you can use mate or breading... On mounting Tex's head. It's not for me, but ok for them that want it. Only thing you may need to put extra support in the wall for the weight.

This was info filled. I have a port mouth, but for a second my eyes widened at “bang the ladies”🤣. I hate animal heads mounted on walls, but you have converted me. If it’s a natural passing, I now get it. Got a second, I thought “I could have my pets forever”. But dogs and cats might be way out there lol. Tex is magnificent.

I don't think it is terrible to mount Tex's head, I'd have his hide tanned too, it is so beautiful. Everyone grieves and remembers their loved ones in their own way. When me and my husband were in our first year of marriage, I said I hoped that I would die before he did, because I wouldn't want to live without him. He said if I died before him, he would have me stuffed, he was kidding, trying to get a rise out of me and he did, I said that if he did, I would haunt him, he laughed and he has never said he was going to have me stuffed again, besides, that was fifty years ago, I'm no longer a "trophy" wife, so I don't think I need to worry. LOL But I don't think Tex would mind and I'm sure he wouldn't haunt you. :)

I can understand about going to bed early & it's not just because I'm getting older - with my job, sometimes I have to be in for either 5,6 or 7 am! On my days off, I'm usually up early for awhile, then I'll usually lay back down for a little bit. Loved this episode ❤!
