Being stalked/hunted, having your house broken into, being 'alone' in the woods, not being believed... these devs know how to turn people's greatest fears into a great story driven horror game.

I saw it coming, but the people turning towards you when you take the picture is easily the scariest part of the whole game. 😱

My grandfather worked on a fire lookout in the 80's up in the northern Canadian muskeg near Fort Mac - I can remember visiting him and grandma, who lived at the tower, he was a carpenter so it actually worked well for him, lots of free time to handcraft furniture and such. The deerflies and mosquitos are awful up there in the summer. My family was always in the forestry service - I grew up at a ranger station/staging grounds (few houses, lots of bunkhouses, out in the bush, dad was a ranger and they worked year round while the bunkhouses filled up in the summer with young guys who would get sent out to fight forest fires, usually picked up by helicopter). Heard some weird stories, like how my dad and another ranger were out on horseback in the bush and found a guy, who had apparently gone out, with a shotgun and... well, he wasn't intending to return.

BRUH, Silas made me JUMP more than any other "scary" jump scare has in all the games you've played

That cult feels dangerous and you know you should stay away, but you feel safe because you're just watching them from afar thinking they won't notice you. But the moment they spot the flash from your camera, everything changes. The only place you feel "safe" in the entire game is now a target to an entire cult because they saw you. And they're all coming.

This one’s easily my most favorite fears to fathom so far. I’ve watched 3 different people play it now

These Fears to Fathom games always make me unlock a new fear or resurface an old fear cause of now realistic they are in life. Makes me wanna go live on the moon or in space.

RV stands for recreational vehicle. It's a catch-all term for campers, winnebago's, and the like. A camper is an RV that is towed behind a vehicle. A winnebago is a motorized camper.

I definitely feel like Creepy Firewatch stories should be a horror genre that needs appear more in games. It different and yet familiar.

Wish these episodes were longer, so much potential and the atmosphere is spot on.

You are so right insym 😂 The weird bald guy who didn't speak in the diner - 11:17 leaves the diner not long before you finish your food... 16:40 That guys in your RV... 17:15 Then that guys left your RV and wondered out in the woods whilst you were dealing with the Ranger dude 20:50 Thats an air compressor just to let you know 😂 1:27:25 Then that FAKE tower engineer jump scares you when you went to the log pile... ohh surprised suprise look who it is... 1:27:33 And the same person creeping and lurking about in the woods and around your tower in that costume is obviously the same person and one of the killers. Noticing this creeped me the fuck out 😅 and I don't think insym even put that same person together like I noticed... Awesome video!

I watched a couple other streamers play this, and it's so funny how I knew the jump scare was coming at 1:27:30 and I still managed to get jump scared by the game

My issue with this story is that why would the characters drop hints of taking photos as evidence that when you actually do, it was pointless as he never brought up the photos in the ending story? No one believes him yet he had the evidence. It was the driving factor of him getting run out. Also, he just sort of forgot about the lost hiker? He didn't look back and think "someone was whistling at him, like what i've been hearing, this is creepy and i should bring it up" And also, the cultists seem to know the forest very well and have been keeping tabs on Jack and Tower 11 the whole time, so why would they set up a late night ritual so near and within viewing distance of the tower? And why were they surprised when they got caught? Are they stupid? The suspense and the little hints of Silas/cultist being dropped here and there were great, but in terms of overall story it's not very strong or believable.

Dude, the random people jumpscares were hilarious! That was a lot of fun, love the jank of these games, but also love as you say the immersive moments of carrying out the everyday tasks of whatever role the person in the story has.

I remember watching one of the horror story youtubers a few years ago talk about this and it was one of my favorite ones ive heard. I am glad that they have made a game on it.

55:35 I'm assuming the campers didn't bring their own picnic table either - trying to think within in the internal logic of the game I'm guessing it's meant to be a picnic spot but not an overnight staying spot for some reason? No idea why they'd make a picnic spot that you're not allowed to camp at, maybe because of fire risk being higher in that area. Either way they should definitely make the no camping sign much more obvious because most people would definitely assume they could camp at a picnic spot! But also it's just kind of funny that apparently they keep finding abandoned camps in the woods and their reaction is "these darn ghost hunting vandals leaving their crap behind all the time" not "wow it's kind of weird that people keep just disappearing without any of their stuff, we should probably be concerned about that."

Honestly my favourite person to watch! Keeps me company throughout the day, appreciate all the effort Insym!

Never thought id enjoy the game this much. Those menial tasks like taking firewood for the fire every day, checking the weather, cooking the casorole, helping people out, the video games and the tutorials, they all breathed fresh life to the game as if you were the person living in that moment. Then slowly but surely the horror kicked in until you were chased by the cultist and ended the game.

Insym, I just want to thank you so much for posting this video. I have always wanted to do a temp job in a fire tower, being out in the woods with predators more dangerous than myself, all alone, in the unknown, ever since I was a little boy. I never realized that dream, but tonight I got to forget my real life for a little bit, and just live in the moment. Maybe I'll still go live in a tower someday. I'm still young.

I love this series and they're so well made but I kinda wish the gameplay was a lil less formulaic. all the games have the same pattern of mysterious noise, a little sneaking, get chased, escape

The game was good except at the end when the story forgot that the character you play literally has evidence of the cultists but not even his family believes him and it wasn't mentioned at all if he had lost the picture, so it's a huge plot hole.

6:46 Yeah, but at the same time, they also have some of the darkest mysteries within them, just look up Missing 411 by David Paulides, some of those bizarre disappearances honestly make me fear the woods more than the ocean, I remember one time that I read a comment relating to Missing 411 and they said that one time that a park ranger told them to never under any circumstances go out into the woods, not in a group, not alone, day, night, even if you are experienced with nature, or anything like that, they don't even know what lies within the woods, but whatever it is, it's not normal, and it might be the culprit behind the strange disappearances of Missing 411, even though David doesn't take a stance as to what is causing these disappearances, but it's implied that there is something *hunting* humans inside of these national parks in North America, absolutely terrifying... 12:24 I'm so glad that I'm not the only one, cause anyone who pisses standing up are just flat out weird😂😂😂

The first two episodes were pretty creepy. This one, imho, did not do as much to BUILD tension. Like there were tense moments but not tension building with payoff.. I mostly felt at ease watching this game up until the part with the camera flash (there was also a creepy shadow at night that was effective). But even after that it just felt like the danger was low when all you have to do is hide under the bed.. besides that, the game had a pretty cozy atmosphere. I do enjoy the aesthetics of the FTF series. Hoping the next episode knocks it out of the park!

6:10 just a couple years ago usually it was just 10%-20% for a tip in the US. Now the lowest you can tip is like 20% and gives you options for 30%… it’s crazy

On the tips thing: I have never heard of someone getting banned for not leaving a tip. Further, the idea is that you will give good enough service to the customers that they will give you a tip, and that would make up for the lower wage. Yes this is open to abuse, but I have known waiters and waitresses, and it was pretty common for them to bring home several hundred just in tips most nights.
