All right so I have the data with my digital caliper. The 18650 battery is 65mm x 18mm and the 21700 battery is 70mm x 21mm. Inside this flashlight you have 23.1mm of width. So the 21700 battery is 21mm which gives roughly 2mm of play. The sleeve for the 18650 is right around 20mm, however it has these little lines built into it to keep the battery tightly against the sleeve which equals 18mm with. Conclusion: I would say yes it'll work. The 21700 battery has a 21mm width and the flashlight has 23.1mm. However, the sleeves outside dimension for the 18650 battery is 21.3mm and fits just fine in there so I would say yes you could just put a 21700 in there without a sleeve and it would work just fine. Additional 2 mm in height I measured will not be a problem, plenty of room. Thanks for the question. It's nice to know another battery without a sleeve can fit in here!
