Monster fish of a lifetime with sharp teeth swimming in this flooded playground!!! I would defiantly not recommend going down the slide... Today we are on an adventure fishing the flooded Mississippi River in search of some massive fish, and today we found them. If its something youd be interested in, you should look into the Garrmin striker, its a castable fish sonar, its ok at detecting fish but I mainly use to check water temp/depth and just to see if theres any sign of fish in general

@@NASPELTZ I do admit too, you have a waaaay fancier kayak than me so I don’t have a place to put a normal sonar so I got the striker but I believe garmin does make a small profile “normal” sonar with a transducer for basically the same price if that helps at all

Be careful! In some states, like Michigan, flooded areas may be protected from fishing. This looks like the same kind of place I got my only fine for poaching and I was catching monster pike there as well. Cost me 450 bucks to learn that many good areas like these are breeding grounds and off limits.

i caught my biggest Bass 10lb 7oz in a random pond that was hidden near a State Park in KY last year on this day Lol. It hit my spinner bait prolly 5 feet from the bank as i was about to pull it up on my 2nd cast 😂 i quit fishing immedietley and went and had it sent to the taxidermist… Little did i know all i needed was a picture of it 🤦‍♂️ Congrats on that huge Pike btw

It seems odd to me that fish would move into flooded areas. Floodwater can retreat very fast, trapping and cutting any fish off from the main body of water. You’d think fish would stay away from newly flooded spaces

I caught 5 monster pike (85 pounds total weight) in a flooded playground about 10 miles inland from lake Saint Clair in Michigan. Turns out the pike travel up the drainage ditches to flooded areas to breed, and DNR doesn't much appreciate people eating the breeding fishies.

There was a ton of snow in Minnesota this year most of the central region was flooded because in spring there where 2 days where it was 80+ Degrees when the other days were like 40-50 so a lot of snow melted causing the water levels to increase
