Hey Haelian, i’ve been waiting for you to make a video about Roboquest. I’ve been grinding it out and absolutely love the game and started speed running. Me and friend just got the Co-Op standard S% wr.

When you got everything unlocked and know what weapon you want/have what you want already runs start feeling pretty damn fast. At that stage the only thing really extending the run is time spent deliberating in the safe-zones. Haven City and District 13 have a little bit of back-tracking but it's at most 10-20 seconds of traversal. Plus it seems like you don't have all the movement upgrades yet. Those speed things up a lot.

This game is nice to play right before bedtime. Put a podcast or music on the background.

Had this game on my wishlist since forever, happy to see it's out! Might get it, but my current addiction is The Dungeon Beneath (highly recommend) and Time Walker: Dark Void, so might wear those out first haha

I did a review on this game recently and totally agree with your opinion. The game is awesome and has a lot of great qualities. As far as it being more on the simple side, I do think that it's hard in a different way. Rather than a knowledge curve it leans a lot more on mechanics.

Crab champion runs are about the same time to complete a run also.

Hey Dan so not to spoil anything but the "Perk" system you remember (Gadgets) is just right of the character selector, and these ones you unlock them via new quests that the game added in the 1.0 (one of the best additions, the game now has tons of secrets and missions to find) the good thing is, that there is not a Gadget limit now, so you can have all of them activated.

Grinding out the meta progression is super easy since difficulty modifiers and a good level rating give you more, plus there's not that much you have to unlock anyway. If you can consistently get through boss 2 I think you can get most upgrades in 2 or 3 sessions. What I'm saying is: restart your save and do a full LP. Do it.

Man. This game is awesome. Got in on gamepass just to play a shooter that's not cod. Fell in love with it, beat it, and keep playing it to unlock more stuff.

I’ve never played a first person shooter roguelike before. Should I get Gunfire Reborn or Roboquest? I’m planning on playing on my steam deck docked to my 4k tv

The game looks great. Unfortunately it gets harder and harder for me to not get a headache from the quick movements and camera panning. And I'm not even 40 😅

The game looks very similar to Gunfire reborn. This is also possible to play in co-op, but unfortunately not up to 4 players like in GFR. What do you think are the biggest differences between the two games?

I think the co op play can be improved, too. I really enjoy this game, but coming from gfr, the co op isn't quite what I want and I find the single player more enjoyable. When one player is downed, reviving them cost half the other player's health (unless you get an artifact that negates the penalty). It sort of makes it so if one player is struggling (cause they can't get their build to work, they're new to the game, etc.) it punishes both players for it. Kinda feels pretty arbitrary as a design decision and creates this experience of the run death spiraling sometimes. I just think there are better ways to balance that. Otherwise my only real complaint is I want more weapon drops, there are so many cool guns in this game and I want more opportunities to change up my weapons. Also melee builds are so much fun but so difficult to get off the ground without the right perks and artifacts and some bosses absolutely punish trying to melee them. Idk, I don’t think it's perfect, but it's a really good foil to gunfire reborn and I think both games are probably the best fps roguelikes on the market right now

It would be nice to be able to save at the safe spots instead of having to abandon the run.

I love Hades, I also love Gunfire Reborn, Borderlands games and many more, but this game and Risk of Rain 2 weren’t for me, I got bored very fast, not sure why.

Runs take an hour? My best is 26 minutes on the hardest difficulty. A little longer because that is in game time but it’s not too bad.

average runs are around 30 - 40 mins and i dont play to an S rank status either. better builds go faster and cleanup quicker. mostly about pairing the correct upgrades with the right weapons. you can keep the start pistol, wont say much else as its a spoiler.

I downloaded the demo for this game on a whim. I'm not much of an FPS guy, so I went in expecting to be turned off after five minutes and uninstalling. Imagine my surprise when it grabbed me pretty much instantly.

Only about halfway through the video but wow this game looks a lot like Gunfire Reborn (and the gameplay looks similar-ish?) Does the game feel very similar/comfortable to you?

I played the demo on hard and completed in like 40 minutes. Love the fast paced gameplay. Also try out the flare gun its really good

Is the fact that a run takes too long a negative point? You play other roguelike games that usually last 50-60 minutes. Why is this something bad? owO

Tbh i feel like they should make a intrusive anti-cheat like Valorant has, i don't care if they have a look at my files as long as i can play the game and enjoy a hacker free game
