French AI robotics start-up Exotec Solutions has just announced its latest development, the Skypod. Skypods are warehouse robots that navigate by climbing shelves rather than moving the shelves to human workers.
The robots are able to process 400 picks an hour which is twice the speed of other similar logistics robots according to Exotec Solutions. The robots can reach speeds of 10mph and are able to carry a payload of up to 30kg at a time.
“From inception, the system has been designed to ensure fast deployment and full scalability. Skypod’s free navigation allows the robots to travel anywhere within the system, something the competition can’t offer today. The system’s software is powered by the latest artificial intelligence, allowing us to deploy on site within days instead of weeks,” says Renaud Heitz, CTO and cofounder.

I've done warehouse work as a student. It's repetitive, boring and tedious. Perfect job for a robot.

I know with every new robot there goes another job but you gatta admire the complexity and ingenuity. Marvelous.

The robot doesn't come into existence ex nihilo, it's someone else's job to build it.

Watching most of these videos about robotic warehouses, restaurants, there's no reason for we humans to be worried that all of us will be replaced. Not one of these companies has replaced their total human workforce. Automation being used here is actually a "co-bot" situation where humans and robots are working together, more safely, and with less risk of injury than they might otherwise be right now.

Until its one co-bot to another co-bot :) There's no reason the person there picking couldn't be a robotic arm picking solution

The problem isn't that all human work will disappear, it's that SOME human work will disappear. At some point you have a strange situation where some of your people have to work in order to make society continue to function, and others physically can't for lack of useful jobs, so how do you decide who gets to not work?

Sure not yet, but most jobs will eventually be replaced.

@@Ithirahad it is not going to be like that, as that would be slavery, no person wants to do a soul destroying job, there is a KZfaq video showing how a world with no work and no cash will work. Why would people say 100k people work for idk 1 million people +, while 1 million just sit on their arse, also I really don't think money would exist if most jobs where replaced with robots. What would the purpose of money be if say a robot got materials, another robot took materials to a robot vehicle that took it to a factory then another robot build whatever item, then another robot stored the item then another robot picked the item then another rooted packed the item then another robot delivered the item to the customer. Although saying that there could be a increase of software and hardware designers, also artists, therapist, scientists, physics, self defence experts, inventors, positions etc, that could be what most humans will do, so money might possibly still be here. As for the ones who are unable to do any of them things, well I guess they will be supported by government taxation, like they in 2021.

Old tech reaching a third world country, heh. China, alibaba have been using them for years and a full charge last 12 hours unlike this nonsense that recharges hourly!

Right... the country that gave us COVID because they are still eating bats is calling France a 3rd world country. But we've all seen the massive queues of Chinese tourists begging Parisians to buy a Louis Vuitton bag for them. And we know you haven't invented anything since gunpowder.
