This FS Map is really 4x4x1... FVBC Update. (Public Beta Soon)

I've been quiet because I have been learning some blender and building a border. The real Fraser Valley is spectacular, and big. It is really important to me that the FVBC Map captures this.
The new border covers 100km (60mi) North/South and 60km (40mi) East/West, I'm pretty sure that's the biggest in FS, fwiw. Despite this size the object files are less than 10MB, the image textures less than 50MB, and the frame rate is better than before.
It took ages to put this together mainly because it pushed the limits of each part of the workflow, even getting usable image textures was an issue. I also was a Blender noob, now I'm slightly less of a blender noob.
Now I just need to work on some Alpha bug fixes, so Beta will be publicly available soon, stay tuned on Patreon. / hillyfarms

Question for you since you're here... Do you think the 'near mountains' in the West, North, and North-East need decoration trees (billboarded)? Or do you think the satellite image of the forest is ok as is? Or perhaps a compromise of just a thin scattering of trees to give some depth? What do you think?🌲🌲🌲⛰⛰⛰?

How does it look in winter? I guess that might matter? But I don't have any modding experience. Either way, love your work mate. Keen as to do a playthrough on my little channel.

Trees certainly add depth - that would be my vote, even if it's just a thin scattering to enhance it even more!

@@boganerygood q. Winter is still a wip. The colors of the border will change depending on the season and/or weather.

Very good looking map borders. Never seen it on this level before. Big compliments. This map might be my reason to play on a US Canada map again.

I agree, not enough detail on NA maps. Also, this part of Canada has a climate a bit closer to Western Europe and lot's of Euro migrants back in the day so farming styles are similar.

Really looking forward to this map - I've been following this map for a while and it's something very different to my normal map style - but am sure it's going to be one of my favourite maps. A job very well done - and the drivng wasn't bad either at the end!

Really? cool! The Beta and final versions will be by donation but free to download through patreon and github. The final release might be on modhub, depends on announcements from giant's about the next game. Guilt-trip > Pay-wall.
