We went for 2 weeks on holidays in Croatia and I was using this recipe. Absolutely perfect ! We had sunsets, street walkings, forest treks, the JPEG's from your formula is perfectly balanced ! With a rainy sky in the evening I thought the color was a bit too warm, so I just had to post process in Capture One later (but the light was also very dim). But I will say that 90% of my pictures which I printed are totally untouched from the camera. Thank you so much !

4:02 the lossless compressed options does not degrade the quality of the RAW file, hence the name lossless. It cuts file size in half (on my X-T3 from ca. 70MB to 35MB per RAW file) and it just takes longer to import into a RAW converter like Capture One or Lightroom, and on Mac OS at least you cannot view previews of the RAW file natively within the Finder. These are the only downsides.

As somebody that's shot Nikon for 18 years, here's my 2 cents when adding a different platform like Fuji to your main brand. I've bought an X100V (had the OG and F before it) at launch. I always struggle using it in one way or another. I really miss highlight centric metering , and It's AF is just not up to par with Nikon (Z7II now), if you have face detect on at all times, it will see windows on buildings as faces and expose for that spot or hunt to thatspot. it's RAW workflow is different (if I shoot Nikon in 1:1, the raw is 1:1, the Fuji if i open it, doesn't have my 1:1 crop, i have to do that manually again, with Fuji i have to bring the RAW to what they were myself after the fact which is annoying) - i love the aesthetics, and the X100V i can smuggle in places that normally don't allow pro gear (i.e concerts at nice venues) - but aside from that ? I'm really thinking of just selling it and get a 40/2 mm pancake for my Z7II, which as a total package won't be that much bigger than an X100V. And then i at least have to deal with 1 raw workflow instead of 2.So do rent a Fuji first before just jumping in the hype. My 2 cents.

Reggie I haven't seen this in the comments but at 4:00 you are implying that lossless compressed comes with a loss of image quality. This isn't the case, the name lossless means there is no loss in image quality whatsoever. The opposite is true for "lossy" compression (such as jpg). The only difference between lossless compressed and uncompressed is that the CPU has to work through the compression algorithm for each image but that is compensated by the fact that your SD card can clear the buffer more quickly because of smaller files. There might be a very slight benefit to giving the CPU more cycles to work on autofocus in continuous high mode but I haven't seen anyone claiming any measurable benefit. Hope this helps, great video!

I've actually recently started having one with strong grain and one without the grain. -strong grain for the more filmic look -no grain for the crispy sharp photos. This recipe is my favorite hands down. I've only started utilizing it with video so I have yet to re-evaluate how that translates in post. But excited to see how it looks.

For the clarity delay time, I found that one can override it by shooting in “burst” mode by changing drive from 1 shot to 3 or 4 fps. Short shutter press is one photo and for alittle more action, press and hold for a burst😂 idk- works for me. Though maybe the buffer for thag burst is incrementally smaller, but I’m sure that wedding and docu photography isn’t as fast pace as action sports. What do you think @reggiebphoto

Just one question Reggie: you have adjusted Auto WB a little bit for optimize the melanated skin tone. If I wanna have it optimized for brighter skin tones, what should I change here? In general the output is very good, but just thinking to optimize it for my Family :-) Maybe R to 0 and B -2 or R +2 and B -3 ? Or will that change the complete look? I am not sure if a change is really needed, but in some situations the skin tone is too "Brown", but IT really depends on the light.

I’m thinking about buying the x100v. A lot of reviews said it’s a great camera but if you don’t have enough knowledge on film you won’t get the film look you are expecting. But seeing that you just literally gave the recipe out for free I think I’m definitely gonna get this camera now. Thank you 🙏🏾

I don’t have a fujifilm camera and I don’t do photography (much), but I watched from beginning to end, the way you explain and talk is just so compelling! Love your content and your work is beautiful! I remember watching some “pros” and every time they showed examples it was never that great or at least didn’t connect with me, but yours are just so beautiful and real there’s this look to them more than just the film aesthetic, it’s the angles and the realness of your subjects and the way you treat them.. anyways! Great video will probably watch more ;))

XT1 is so underrated. Been shooting it for years professionally. Makes work flow so easy, yet I don't see many people using it pr Fuji's in general. It's eliminated post process editing completely. I was at my cousins wedding and I happened to be shooting for my own personal use and saw her hired wedding photographer shooting an XT2 and we instantly bonded lol

Haven’t seen the video yet, but if you have one of the fujifilm cameras, they have the heif format, which is 10bit. So not as flexible as raw, but you get to shoot with the recipes you want, with some added flexibility in post if needed. I think that’s awesome! Also, very excited for the video!

Your 'recipe' and insight as to jpeg versus RAW. I've come to the same conclusion: I'm using jpeg 99% of the time, and for high stakes priority pics, going back to RAW on rare occasion. Your 'recipe' just saved me mucho time to develop, even though I have some B&W recipes of my own, but haven't gotten around to color. Thx!@@Reggiebphoto
