So far this is the only video on the pocket 3 that actually shows the fov difference between normal and the wide angle lens add on. Everyone else just kinda slaps it on while they are walking and then the viewer has no frame of reference since the scene is dynamically changing. Thanks!

One correction. The smaller additional handle extender is not a battery, its just a grip extender and moves the usb port. Only the larger handle is also a battery extension

Superb in depth look into this great bit of kit. I'm a gopro user at present and have been for 10 years plus but this review has seriously made me question my last 2 purchases (2 x hero 11) I use them in situations where there is bad weather for for quick snap filming and use my Zv1 for depth of field shots.This dji would be perfect for me to reduce the bulk of my kit. Thanks for this upload it's in depth, considered and straight on point.

Much different sensor, than what the Pocket 2 has, but overall a step in the right direction. 1" sensor, timecode and a good few other upgrades, that were long overdue.

Nice little review Sam, Sherwood Pines is always a nice backdrop with the sun out. It's just worth pointing out that the 'included case thing' 9:50 isn't actually included, it is an optional extra, at least according to DJIs own website. Anyway, great vid, keep up the good work.

For the loose mic insert, id just cut a small patch of black duct tape to fit the slot. The extra friction will solve it instantly. The black tape with the super sticky white side to it. This could be a great tool for film makers, ultra portable 20mm equivalent to set scenes with tracking could be real handy. Would potentially save changing lenses as much. Real impressed with this and great video pal

the mic also comes with a megnetic clip on. so you can easily use it under ur t shirt or something.

Great video! I know I'm getting this for indie movie making. Because it's high quality and not as expensive as my D-SLR and getting things for it. Regarding the mic sliding out, I think a simple solution would be if they mold a notch on the mic and a hole for that notch on the grip. It'll be a little click if you will. Still, I'm glad you mentioned those 2 things. They are minor but, good to know. Cheers!

@@SamHolland no worries dude! Feel like this is finally the time to buy into the Pocket ecosystem. It’s always been a great little camera but it had compromises and fiddly extensions etc. This has all the little bits it had been missing I think.

When you import the videos into your editing program are the frames per second consistent or do they float all over the place like my S22 phone does? It they don't that would be great in editing as the new footage wouldn't have to be rendered to consistent fps.

So DJI Mic 2 is coming shortly then - complete with 32-Bit float according to the Pocket 3's menu options! I've put off getting a Pocket 2 as the feature set wasn't quite right for me but the Pocket 3 may just be the one.

Yep. And seeing the DJI Pocket 3 can be timecode jammed like the DJI Osmo Action 3 and 4, I hope, that the timecode also is transmitted to the TX via wireless.

Great camera overall but still very low DR despite the sensor size upgrade. Blacks are consistently crushed, highlights are all permanently blown out and roll off is less than stellar to put it mildly. Add to that that images are generally too contrasty and that the camera consistently over exposes everything (surely easily correctable it with a -EV dial down). Still this is a good step forward and definitely a major step up from the previous version. Hopefully v4 (with a faster lens for better background separation, less abhorrent lens breathing and distortion, better low light and an overall more refined sensor) will seriously threaten the mirrorless camp. Its getting closer, but not yet the revolution everyone is hyping on all the videos that I see..

hi Sam r u in the UK, I love my cameras but not up to editing, I want to get my utube going as I have a dgi air 2s drone osmo action 4 and insta 360 , I like my fishing and interact with people , I just need to start learning to edit my videos then I will be omw lol I wish , can you recommend a video editing tool I can load to my computer which is easy and will make my videos gd for now untill I understand whst diff tools do , loved the the video ,I've ordered the pocket 3 looks a great tool thankyou

One glance at the card slot - unsealed - answers that question! But I think it would be a tall order to weatherproof the gimbal motors and mechanism. Basically, it's not an action camera, so don't expect it to have action camera features.

Discrete is the name of the game. My channel is POV walks. There are many places where taking an FX3, Mic, and RS3 PRO would be dangerous or disruptive. A pocket 3 is the stealth bomber I need.

Hi there, Do you know what happens to the active track when you are 4 or 5 people in the view ? Thanks Sam. Interested in your LUT workshop however I use Lumafusion for editing and colour grading. From the description it's seems more focused on Adobe, davinci so would this still be of use in my circumstance? Cheers.

Hi. Does lumafusion allow you to import LUTs or .CUBE files? If so, the advice in the workshop will apply and you can use the tips and get the same results 👌🏻🎥

@SamHolland yes can import LUT's with Lumafusion. Might be worth you checking it out on ISO. Can edit 4k HDR files on ipad pro with no issues. Thank you.

Oke. Done deal, I need this. Means I don’t need a versetile lens anymore for vlogging on my s5. Means the 20-60 is leaving the bag and the osmo pocket is flying in. What would be your ultimate travel set up Sam? Considering less as possible but be able to shoot short documentary on the road. We sold our house and fly to India in January (backpacking) and I am still looking for the prefect travel combo. Anyhow this osmo pocket is great! Great vid ❤

Hi. I don’t believe you can record both at the same time. I think it switches when you plug the mic in. Or did you mean will the wireless mic record internally as a safety track?
