psst, if you want a nice sorta browned texture without creating toxic fumes, try using chalk pastels! i scrape off some powder and use a brush to kinda "blush" it onto clay, its really good for making a realistic cookie look without risking your health lmao

For a cookie effect without risking your or your pet's health I recommend pastels ^^ chalk pastels work wonders, there's even a Japanese company that does these little pallets (kind of like lil eyeshadow pallets) specifically for bakery themed clay pieces ^^ Using a stiff cut brush or toothbrush also gives a great texture. Tin foil and sand paper also do

These are precious!! 💖Something else you could do for the cookie texture and color: Shave off a bit of chalk pastels in your desired color and brush it over the clay, maybe even use an old toothbrush for the crumbly texture. (You may want to use an old or scraggly brush for the pastels, since if you use the same brushes you use for painting, you're going to ruin them ^_^0)

I burnt a clay piece once and it looked exactly like a chocolate cookie, so I mixed white paint and UV resin to look like icing, and it was(and still is) the most realistic thing I've ever made. I tricked my dad into biting it 🤣

Chalk pastels are the best least toxic way to colour your clay to look toasted. A stiff paintbrush or toothbrush work well For adding physical texture. The best glue for polymer clay is liquid polymer clay. E600 hot glue or super glue all work for certain applications but have various downsides.

They're incredibly cute. 😊 Liquid sculpey with white mica powder or powdered pastels as someone else suggested for the 'baked' look would give you the same effect as the glue gun. 😊

Great craft idea! It came out great. I have never tried anything like this and it will last forever! Something to try: Dollar tree has little led lights with a battery pack. They don’t heat up. Also, small pieces of acetate colored with soft yellow marker might be cool in the windows. Thanks for posting this! (Starts shopping for clay…)😉🥰

If you have led lights, you shouldn’t have to worry about heat and if you don’t… you should switch over. They are so much safer and more energy efficient.

Please just use a brush and pastel crayon dust to make the texture and then you don't "have to die for your art" and you can make cookie like texture with aluminium foil and a tootbrush
