I get your frustration with the deck not performing as expected but his videos have always been a good base to start from, or at least that’s how I think of em, and adjusting it accordingly. With that being said you as the duelist will need to adjust the deck according to your playstyle or adjusting your deck to fit your localized meta. Now that you played the deck and see it’s weak point, you can change things up in the main/side to help with certain matchups. I wouldn’t give up on the deck yet and elevate it to your own unique combo line

That's why I look for ideas from others that are just a little tech and will still play my version though and learn from each duel what I feel my deck need here or there. But I run horus in my deck but also dragoon. Went X/1 at my locals. But each player plays a different version. Mines played fusions, maybe 2 or 3 synchro, exceeds and links. But I'm trying to make it even better.

Sage melody is seals spirt dragon btw. Sage summon add legend melody pitch legend add levy and alt. New chain mandatory chain 1 legend to search blue eyes. Summon alt. Make spirit. Spirit tag out into moonlight. Levi banish 3 light bring back spirit. Make seals with moonlight and levi. Then u also have imseity lol.

Just curious on the last test hand. Why did you added blues eyes instead of jet? You would have had jet and alt from melody and then blue eyes from the stone.

To be fair you also have way more lines than what you see. For example hand two. Normal summon stone. Link 1 add blue eyes special alt. Pitch blue eyes with trade in so on. It’s blue eyes. It will never be like it used to be but it’s a fun deck and there is way more you can do that you just don’t see. Card for card that deck is decent.

To be fair, Blue eyes in generall is a bricky deck by nature. The Horus package is at least 2 bricks in 8 cards. As a generall note to everyone. Before purchasing a card or deck, test them in one of the free simulators first. You get a feeling for the deck and if it's worth getting for you. This is honestly less of his fault and more on you.

The first problem is that you went with a deck from Team Samurai. Lol.

I don’t want to defend Team Samurai or anything, but in your very first test hand, you forgot about using the Stone you discarded for Melody. By discarding White Stone of Legend, you can search for anything but the vanilla with Melody(Alternative and Jet for example), and then get BEWD with the effect of Stone of Legend. That’s a big search/effect to just forget about/ignore. Especially when you were worried about having to throw out either Lighting Storm or Effect Veiler for Gold Sarc. If you resolve the Melody/Legend combo properly, you have the Jet to discard, which can come back from the GY later unless it gets banished

While I agree there's always a some level of clickbait in Sam's videos I think you made a bit of a miscalculation with this deck. Sam posted this deck as a master duel deck. It's can work in a best of 1 since there's no side deck, your dueling against all manner of decks due to the ranking system unlike tcg locals where it's mostly gonna be meta, and looking at the list there aren't enough consistency cards for a best of 3. Don't get me wrong, i enjoy Sam's content and I agree there's too much click bait in a lot of it but overall so this isn't a post to defend Sam kinda thing. It's just a voice, my random opinion thing. The deck he made seems fun and with some adjustment, I think the deck may be playable at locals but it would need a fair bit of work for that format. I would love to see your take on a more competitively viable version of this deck. Also, I'm a huge fan of darkworld so I'm looking forward to that version when you do post it.

Right off the bat I see your first test hand misplay. Melody pitch white stone search alternative and jet. White stone effect searches vanilla. You’re right Team Sam does clickbait when he says tier zero blue eyes deck. A well versed and experienced blue eyes player would already know no variant of blue eyes would ever even be tier 2 yet alone tier zero. I’ve played them all. Pure builds, branded variant, bystial blue eyes and Horus. Neither can hold consistently at a competitive locals events. Can you steal some rounds maybe even have a good day and win a couple matches? For sure. But expecting to be “competitive” playing blue eyes is like expecting to make the NBA with a 20 inch vertical and a 5’6 height. Unrealistic 😂

Tbh if you wanted a good deck get better ratios because they all over the place even Sam should know this 3 King Sarchogus is a must for starters

Better off running branded/Bystial Blue Eyes no offense this Horus Blue Eyes deck is really bad. No Blue Eyes player who plays on a competitive level will run those card ratios.

Why would you use his exact ratios? That's all I'm questioning. Everyone builds their deck different, so doing it exactly the same won't work for you like it does for him. That's Yugioh 101. lol Plus, no one ever gives their own deck secrets. lol Also, on your first hand, if it would have gotten ashed: Sage from the hand can target Sage on the field, and that would trigger the one in hand. Not counting the rest that you did.

Well that was your first mistake, his blue eyes deck was actually really bad, he built it more as a going 2nd varient and its just really bad, barely any cards built for going first. I respect teamxsamurai as a player but this decklist was actually awful, probably the worst version I've seen. I can show you a different varient of horus blue eyes if you want, usually horus blue eyes should be the best version of blue eyes out there.

First of all: The non engine in this deck is just crap. In the first hand you say you don't want to get rid of Lightning storm? I mean for what exactly you want to keep it? There is no chance that you could activate it in the grind game. Then dark ruler in main deck with this kind of deck? In today meta?🤦 for real with this kind of deck you play exactly 6 non engine. 3 Veiler and 3 Ash. Or 2 veiler, 2 ash and 2 Nibiru to not draw 2 ashes because on 3 it happens sometimes. That's the first thing. On your second test hand you should normal summon the stone and link it away. Get vanilla blue eyes, summon alternative and discard the vanilla for trade-in. You made more of this bad plays. But anyways this deck with the from samurai mentioned win condition only works with assault synchron. So it highly rely on drawing him. That really s*cks. Which maked this deck bad. Also I think just 2 different Horus monsters are better then 3. cause hapi and Dua are just two more bricks and you dont want so many of them. Next is the vanilla blue eyes: so you dont need to play him at 3. 2 are totally enough. Dictator of D was bad before SP, just a dead body but nowadays it's okay to have him on the field so I'm okay with playing it at 3 or 2. You could also cut him and play the vanilla blue eyes at just 1. This deck dies on a good times Ash. But hey that's like with branded decks. You're so afraid of one single hand trap, that's insane🤷‍♂️ I play a lot of different blue eyes decks and top a lot of time in my locals which are very strong. We had 5 top Cuts in the last 3 YCS (Dortmund, Vancouver and Bologna). It is very competitive and full of top meta decks. I still manage to go 3:1 or 2:2. 2 weeks ago I got first place with 30 players. So it is possible to win with blue eyes but you need to build your deck smart. Further tips for you: You NEED to cut Levianier. It's so horrible in Blue Eyes because most of the times you don't want to banish anything in the grave except the Stones and Sage. But you will need to draw a nearly perfect hand to have so many monsters in the grave. You never searched Jet dragon out of melody when you discarded the stone of legend but you need to understand that Jet is the best monster in the deck. So many times my opponents first try to get rid of him before going to their combo or playing into my board because his battle effect and his protection are very good. Also he is coming back once per turn so he helps us to not get OTK. The assault synchron/Spirit/Crimson combo is very strong and I really like it. But with assault synchron not searchable through the combo makes it not competitive. In the case you dont draw him you need to have other win conditions but this decks doesn't give us any of them. The combination of blue eyes and horus is really great.
