The amount of poly they need to make those large grains stick to the tape probably also causes some smoothness that makes it less grippy.

I’ve been using DKL grip since the first time you’ve showcased it on the channel. The only time I’ve gotten something else (Jessup) was for my vert/pool board where I’m not flicking anything.

I'd be much more excited to see them try some basic freeride on a curvy bike path or something. They had the episode where mogly skated a hill and tried to learn Coleman slides. From my knowledge, non abrasive always tends to have a bit less grip. So it really comes down to your skate style and preference. I like going fast and doing big ledge drops so I REALLY prefer very grippy tape. My favorite was always black magic and MOB/shakejunt a close second. I can definitely notice shoes wearing out faster with the black magic but the trade off was worth it to me. Find it helps the front foot catch better and pull up the tail of the board better. Which made things like big kickflips look WAAAY better. Non abrasive is definitely liked a lot by some but it’s not for me. Edit: they have like like 4 video just at first glance. Just search “braille non abrasive grip tape”.

Putting grip tape on a rail and then doing 100 darkslides with a grip less deck to see if you can break the board by sanding it down instead of actually snapping it
