The RD is by no means a “budget” or early weapon, in no small part because it’s only accessible at Mechanic 4 and banned on the flea market. However it is fairly easy to mod, comes with good stats despite the high initial price tag.

personal recomendation when using the blast mitigation device on any gun: most of the time the muzzle flash will block your optic, i like to put a rail riser and use EOTechs so on most cases my line of sight is just above the muzzle flash and still see the target on full auto

U will get better i promise! I used to get rekt by every player i came across, but now i kill a few players almost every raid. Last night i finished punisher part 4 in 4 shoreline raids.

Thermals help. I ran one on woods last night with a reap ir and I'm certain I got reported by at least one of the 4 pmcs and 3 playerscavs I took down. Best thing is learning how to move across the map while breaking/avoiding as many lines of sight as possible and never staying still for more than a second unless behind cover

Hey gigabeef, Quick labs tip. At 8:50 you kinda slowly left hand that hall. The two best ways to peek it is to either free look right then jump forward and when you land jump backwards, this lets you see if someone is their without getting hit. Or you hop on those boxes and you take the off angle peek but you want to do it quickly to avoid the person putting together what you are doing.

Also a side note, those stairs at 8:30 have almost ZERO audio when you run up them so you can easily catch guys there. Just don't stand by them like he did

@@arandomplushdogifound6767 Most people who play a good amount of labs will expect a peek or a swing often enough that it isn't worth the casual left hand peek, either swing, or jump up like i mentioned. You can also bank a nade off the wall to help

They just recently heavily nerfed the RD-704's convergence hidden stat, by the way. From 2.0 to 1.3, only 0.1 better than an AKM.

I'm pretty sure it was always low. I recall specifically noting that the RD-704 had worse convergence than the CMMG Mk47.

@@SBImNotWritingMyNameHere Convergence is a hidden state that governs how fast the gun returns to neutral after a shot. Low Recoil + High Convergence means the gun doesn't bounce much and returns fast, High Recoil + High Convergence means the gun bounces up a lot, but comes back down fast. These, along with dispersion angle (how far left and right the gun bounces) control the overall "feel" of the gun

How recently is that? As far as I can tell there hasn't been any more changes to the gun since January when there was the game-wide recoil/gun balance passes. The gun was too strong after the first pass and it was brought back in line (but still very strong).

If you use the Zhukov-S, you can get the minimum recoil down to 39.

I just run canted foregrip with meta everything else except for loud with BMD. Love that gun, and love the fact that I don't have to replace the gun after only a few raids because the suppressors destroy durability.

RD's are actually pretty easy to come by if you scav Lighthouse and get good at rushing to Rogues and killing them. I currently have eight of them in my (admittedly excessive) gun stash. (I don't have a hoarding problem, I have a hoarding solution.)

Legit question though, at a certain point does ergo really even matter unless you are standing still or holding a crouch ads? With the bug that has never been patched out that running to ads gives you insta ergo building much beyond a certain threshold has seemed for multiple wipes to be worthless. I get not everyone runs snap fires, but quick movements around the maps is something most players graduate to eventually.

Generally I find you should pick recoil or ergo to focus on. You need quite a bit of ergo to make a difference in ads I find. I usually go for max recoil reduction and then try and find where I can compromise for a bit more ergo while losing as little recoil as possible.

@@mjay6245 exactly, like I can count the number of times I've died because ergo on 1 hand but the number of times I miss a shot because of recoil is countless (outside of bolt guns). Because no stats matter other than these two (which is a stupid system) ergo just seems like an afterthought for anything other than sub 20 ergo. The maim benefit to using the side grip is that it your ring finger aligns with your center for hip fire which if you can run ADS or camping, should be mostly what you are doing in tarkov

@KayZ Yeah. Honestly I've been using a laser and hip firing more which makes ergo even less important too. Anything above 25 is good for me. I almost never can't bring my sights up in time even with low ergo because of tarkov's slow pace.

for the cost of the zhukov and the high base cost of the rd I just cant see ever using the wood stock combo. for early game with crafted ak74n and for budget akm work this might be a better recommendation. for the price of the "budget" rd you can build an almost meta akmn or akm and get excellent performance.

Big disagree here - Even if the term "almost meta" was less ambiguous you still have to consider the differences between the RD and the AKM, or any other AK for that matter in dispersion (and recoil angle specifically for the AKM).

The logic goes: - CAR is half the price of Salewa (can often get it for 8-9k bartering with humpback salmon) - CAR heals up to 70 per use vs 85 for Salewa, so only if Thorax is

@@Gigabeef It's so good to get a proper answer from someone for once, plus I love the logic behind it. Might actually start giving it a go since I'm looking for any way to minimize my losses (I'm horrible at pvp) And it's very true about the heavy bleed use of the Salewa, nobody uses that part of it. Even when I use an Afak, I still have a CAT or other heavy-bleed in my inventory. Sometimes I take bandages too. Cheers man!

I used to love the akm. Wish the rd-704 was viable but 200 m995 is cheaper to craft than 120 bp. There needs to be a barter for bp I miss this calibre

One weapon that I rock a lot, that is MAJORLY slept on is the VPO-209. It's cheap to buy, takes all sorts of AK compatible goodies for mods, and sits in this beautiful power level between 7.62x39 and .308. I also use Razer Hypershift and a left click macro to make it full auto at 600 RPM.

Because it's not the "intended way", or so they say. Btw yes, it's bannable to use Macros on EFT, though if it's only on your mouse, it would be pretty hard to detect.

I spawn in with my best kit and get killed instantly by gigachad. I spawn as a hatchling for task and run into a chad not looking at me with his back turned but i got nothing to kill him with. Love tarkov

What is the point of running mid RD-704 build if the only good available ammo is 7.62x39 BP, which is basically only craftable. If I am going to raid with this ammo I want the best of the best, because if you die you lose ammo and right now ammo is the most important thing. You can buy any gun, no matter how much it cost, but ammo can be only bought with your time.

This is actually good logic. I think you can spread it out a bit with ammo stacking, and especially that unsuppressed build is pretty close to meta tbh and fully usable for much less - I guess it just depends on your priorities. I totally see your point here

In some recent videos I saw that your editor puts the "kill feed" in some pretty obvious/visible kills, not to hate, but I don't thinks that's a good/necessary thing.. I Know other youtubers that do the same thing but only when the viewer and/or the youtuber him/herself can't really see that they really killed someone. Edit: the editor puts it in every single kill, might as well make a COD or CS like kill feed and put it in the top/corner of the screen. this way it might be a better addition and something a little cooler

@@Gigabeef yeah, you don't need to remove it, but I think a more subtle approach would be nicer, like something in the corner or in the middle/bottom of the screen just like a kill feed, it would take more time obviously but I think it would be a cool addition.

Why are you using car kit and CAT ? rather than calok and salewa

Calok is frequently overkill (you get like 1 maybe 2 heavy bleeds and survive the raid and now you have a calok that you need to supplement or you can just die, and loose a more expensive item, also cat is quicker to use) and finding meds either from players you kill or as loot makes the salewa a bit of an overkill for the price. I think he explained it in one of the videos that this is his though process.

My soul aches when I spend 100k on a full gear (weapon, helmet, vest, headset) and this guy spends 300K on a single weapon. damn!!!

Honestly idk how you can go into a raid with a 100k loadout. You got what, a paca a penis helm, a prapor headset and bank robber rig, thats already like 70k? Not even insured. Then you need a 30k gun which leavea you the bottom of the barrel for guns... i just recently got out of doing this to myself and im so glad i did. Think about it, a scav run on factory poses no risk 90% of the time and you can easily net 1 or 200k, that should be enough reason alone to double your budget. What really made me wake up was seeing that etg stims cost like 99k. Im sitting here worrying about my kits value when guys are popping 100k stims just to maybe live a few seconds longer.

Learn your stash runs man, I made 9m roubles off 6 woods scav runs yesterday. That is pretty on par for average for me. Once you learn a run like that you won't think twice about spending 600k on a meta M4, it's a drop in the ocean

@@majora919 Yep, and no cap. Average woods run is 15 stashes, fob, usec camp, and scav bunker. That is consistently over a mil if you spawn with at least a berkut/scav backpack and a reasonably sized rig. I've made over a mil off a run with no bag and just a scav vest before. Ledx, Bitcoin, and a moonshine all in one raid, plus some other valuables. Just because you can't do it, it doesn't mean no one can.

Live EFT modding meta is so gross and illogical. SPT mods like Realism really puts live to shame. In Realism the stats of attachments actually make sense, and there are way more mod stats to consider like dispersion, cam recoil, vertical recoil, convergence, accuracy, etc. The weight and balance of the gun actually matters too. A meta gun in live is nothing anyone would ever use, with realism it makes sense. EFT has so much wasted potential

@Gigabeef I'm not claiming to be an expert but usually what I see is others cutting to right before the interesting thing happens and the viewer extrapolates how they got there (5-10s) instead of including 2-4 jump cuts of the run to the interesting thing. You do you though, I was just trying to be constructive! Keep up the good work man, I watch all your videos ✌️

Lots of people do on labs - they think what is the point as everyone's using high pen ammo. I think there's enough using FMJ and M855A1 in this patch to justify Class 5 personally
