There is something wholesome and satisfying when you get close to the growing of your food. I joined a farm membership about 15 years ago and would get a box of produce a week. It was fresh picked and dirty! It would take me several hours to wash and prep everything, and I’ll never forget how grounded I felt doing that. So hard to explain but it just made me feel… real. 🥰

I agree. I felt depressed during he pandemic and have to work at home and not go out.

It's doubtful people kill themselves over social media. They usually have debilitating depression and or trauma but okay. Also, picking strawberries sounds boring and annoying which wouldn't help everyone.

I got sick a few years ago and had a long recovery. I got extremely depressed because I had nothing in my life anymore. No work, hobbies, social activities, just laying around recovering.

This is definitely a positive influence. But that is not the main reason people become depressed. There's a lot that has influence; including personality, environment, cognitions, etc. Loneliness is one of the biggest factors in causing or worsening depression. But please don't make such assumptions without any expert knowledge as it's a very sensitive topic and may make other depressed people feel misunderstood.

Why not do it as an adult? That's what this video is about, inspiring adults to get out and do stuff like this. DO what you did as a kid now, as an adult. Just because you're older doesn't mean you can't do what you loved as a kid. Adults are just grown children. I still play with hot wheels because why the heck not! Adults forget to play for fun!

@@brandonSSSSSS well you could with grow lights .. but I was talking about the small footprint a grow tower takes up. You can grow on a balcony, small patio . . My tower is 3 sections high. I planted 3 strawberry plants, each sent out a 'runner' that I trailed down to the next level and that started a new plant, and then the next .. I had 9 plants before the end of last summer and each was producing strawberries. I took each section and put out in my yard close together and covered with leaves for winter, all of them survived and I have the tower back together .. they are already producing berries this year - in Kentucky! If you want Strawberries all season rather than just one month, look for 'ever bearing' plants.

I think the main thing is that gets away from his home from the computer and goes to the countryside.
