I’ve watched all of the Rich/Casey convos. Something about this one helped me more. Maybe because I’m exactly like him in the way that I have to work alone and my environment matters so much. It was motivating to hear him talk about “I just need my computer and my camera, and I’ll sit there and edit it alone, and I’ll hit upload, then I’ll close my laptop and go for a run, and maybe I’ll look at the numbers later or tomorrow, and I don’t need praise for my work or validation.” Good reminders. Thank you both.

I absolutely love Casey. His love for creativity and the art of being genuine. These 2 things are the reason people are so glued to his content. Nothing to do with quality or story arch’s. Being a creative and genuine person is the rare feat that these people like Casey and Joe Rogan have in common and no one ever talks about it.

I was so excited to see it was with Rich, I’m not sure why but Casey has done a lot of interviews with people that are really not great interviewers I’m really happy to have seen this one where thoughtful questions were asked of a person who has a lot of thoughtful answers to give 🙏🏼

Convo at around 18:00 reminds me of my employer, a "3PL" - third party logistics provider - that gives customers the freedom to focus on CORE COMPETENCY - the things they do best. Our customer at my location outsources multiple services, from cleaning to security to logistics, because they trust us to do what we do well... so they can devote energy and resources to their products. Tremendous amount of trust extended to us... and we all thrive through robust and honest communication.

To this very moment, I don't know that I can count on more than one hand the number of KZfaqrs I've seen who have elevated "vlogging" to an art form the way Casey has. This interview is wonderful because he himself has come to realize the act of solo shooting, editing, and uploading a video *is* the art. That's it. You can't deconstruct it or outsource it without it loosing its essence. And that essence is what I aspire to as well. No, I'm not trying to copy Casey when I work on vlogs, that would be absurd! But in my own little way, I too can see it as art and care *deeply* about it, the way Casey cares about his art. And maybe-some day long into the future-actually get a tiny bit good at it. ;P

@casey I have probably 100+ videos of unlisted videos shared with specific people. I don't know about you but my mind thinks in pictures and movies and I create these memories so I can bring what I see to life to share those moments with others. This, more than anything is what drives my love of photography and video. There is also the peace in knowing it will be an archive of your life for your children, grandchildren, etc

Just got the end of the 'Creator Economy' section, and Casey speaks so much sense. I'm thoroughly bored of titles like "This is why you need this..." or "Your Videos Will Get More Views By Doing this...". And there's channels dedicated to maximising this kind of work. It feels like where currently stuck at looking at metrics instead of making sure we're making something good. The actual advice I'm seeing at the moment is: Come Up With A Catchy Title and then Make The Thumbnail, before you even make the video. I get packaging is important, and I'm definitely guilty for falling for this advice. My new mantra is: What Would Casey Do?
