No, it’s just to stop people falling in as there is no ladder and (the pontoon) can (sometimes) be far too high to climb. And additionally is in moving water and therefore someone could get trapped underneath it.

This is not an over the water hammock it's a fishery net for large loads of commercial fishing to easily and quickly pick through their catch and discard the unwanted and box up the catch into large ice boxes .... we have them in Riverside right down the road from my house and some of them have signs out from saying to stay off of them 🤣🤣🤣

Yep. This is a spot just outside of Pittsburgh at a local park. In the summer, they hang swings up so you can swing over the net and the water. If it gets too high tho or it’s heavy rain, it can be trouble if you don’t move. The river that it sits on has an extremely strong undercurrent.

Seems a little strange to make an over-water hammock this industrial looking and large. It really seems like a purposeful structure essential to the overall design. If I had to guess, the way this dock is designed the area beneath the dock may have a weird layout which creates pressure bubbles during tides. For the dock not to constantly crack, break, and require repair, they made this section as a sort of pressure release valve. I might be wrong but it just looks very different from typical "over-water hammocks".

Aside from walkable surface from stray animals if ever ventured on those pools of water so they won't have accidents/drown. It also serves as a barrier for large rubbish to not get into water to filth it.

Anyways here’s a brownie recipe, Ingredients: - 1 cup unsalted butter - 2 cups granulated sugar - 4 large eggs - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour - 1/2 cup cocoa powder - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional) Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°€) and grease a baking pan. 2. Melt 1 cup butter, mix with 2 cups sugar. 3. Add 4 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla; mix well. 4. Sift in 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, and 1/4 tsp salt; stir. 5. Optional: add 1 cup nuts or chocolate chips. 6. Pour into the pan, bake for 25-30 mins. 7. Many countries use those to grow fish in. They will be fully netted in on the bottom to where the fish can grow in the water but can't escape. Then they can harvest the fish as needed by taking the net off the top. I'm not saying that's what this is but it looks a lot like the ones I've seen in other countries. Sometimes vacationers can even fish out of there for a small fee.
