A young person from srilanka around 20-30 years old went to south Korea for job reasons... after a few months he came back to srilanka to get a partner/wife. he got engaged in srilanka and went back to south Korea... after 1.5 months holloween came.. he went to celebrate it with his wife. but there was so much rush so he couldn't breath and passed away... its very sad that even saudi is changing and breaking rules of our religion.. Despite Halloween being impermissible, i do think this is a good sign overall for Saudi. Its showing thay they are more and more open to allowing non-muslims and international visitors a way to feel more comfortable and welcome. Dont get me wrong, i wish for anyone who doesn't want to partake in this holiday to be able to avoid it and not be tempted. But, like they said about women being able to drive now, its a sign of modern change and diversity.

Why is modern halloween haram? Most people just dress in costumes and eat candy. I'm not insulting it, I'm just curious what the reason is.

I do celebrate in 2 ways. I do the typical costume candy thing like most people in the US but I also celebrate it the way it is supposed to be celebrated because I am Pagan. It is my religions holiday. I am not offended if you don't celebrate it. What drives me batty is when people take my holiday and bash and lie about Pagans and what whey believe, who they are, and what they do. Now I DO have a problem with people like that.

Religion and government should always be separated because not everyone is religious. Saudi Arabia is catering to everyone (religious and non-religious) which is what every country should be like.

I used to live in Saudi Arabia, and let me tell you, it was NEVER like this. Saudi Arabia used to not allow any concerts, no women driving, stores would close during prayer times, and women were required to cover up in public and wear abayas. Now, it’s the complete opposite. Saudi Arabia is changing for the worse. May Allah guide us all.
