This is a decent little mechanics flashlight that does have a variable output but it is not documented. it is plenty bright for a pen light but the battery is a little small and would probably have to be charged every day if used daily.

Love this light. Been carrying it in my chest pocket for 6 months now. Dropped and beat it up plenty. Even had it completely submerged in a puddle for over a minute before I went back and found it and it still works great with no issues.

Variable output is a feature that is usually only found on higher end flashlights I like that.

The yellow Braun headlight does the same thing, the dimming thing. Also it can do strobe if pressed on fast, in both red and white modes.

March of 23 found one of these with rubber usb nub long gone, but power is lovely, a magnet and your tips make it a nice find. Thanx

Yes but can you stop it at any point (lumen output) during the drop or raise during the secret variable output ?

I’m pretty sure that the light output stays on the dimming you leave it at. I don’t own this light yet, but if that variable output switch is anything like the SnapOn tool light I own. It’s a steal for the price because when I bought the Snap on light this variable output was the whole reason justifying Strap On price I was paying ( $100 + )

It holds up surprisingly well. I have dropped it quite a few times 😅 I use it everyday in a welding shop (I'm a teacher at a tech college and I was tired of using my phone as a flashlight to look in pipes to see the root weld lol the magnet is pretty strong if I remember to clean the metal dust off it. So good to use in a metal shop to stick to something for weird position welds. It's overkill for what I got it for but I like that it's rechargable and holds a charge for a long time.

Can you see any PWM or flicker? It will be especially noticeable when you've ramped down. Also, what happens when you press and hold the power button when the light is off? Thanks for the review!

I've owned this light for 6 months now. Carry it in my chest pocket and use it daily. It's been dropped countless times. I once dropped into a puddle, completely submerged for over a minute before I went back and found it. Still works perfectly fine, no issues. This is actually a very solid light and one of the Harbor Freight products that is quality.
