I'll tell you what, I started my own buisness about 2 years ago. I specialize in residential rain gutters and it's been a fight for me too. I'm out of San Antonio, TX. I feel ya brotha. Some days I question too but other days are really great. It's definitely a struggle but I love being on my own. I feel truly blessed I get to see my kids grow up now that I'm home way more.

I've been running a Harley rake since they first came out, they save a lot of labor. The people that say "you can finish with a machine" are just lazy 😂 I've been doing it 25 years and hand finish everything, not one machine track visible when I'm done.

For 10 years I was an owner/operator leased to a trucking company. The money was not bad but the worries could weigh out the good. Biggest task was when I went on vacation and no money coming in.😢

Yeah the safety sensors always go out on zero-turn mowers to when you put the lap bars in lol I literally do that same exact thing only instead of using a fuse I use a paperclip to bypass the safety switch

Mike I would try using pulverized straw instead of the straw mats. I've been landscaping going on 20 years and in my opinion it works much better. It's not expensive either, for that size of a lawn you would only need 1 of packages of it. They generally run between 16-18 dollars a piece.

If you buy the equipment only then you do not say you bought the business but the equipment.. @@jimsmith9931 How would you know that? Did you work for Harley Davidson? I did work for the HD company and they just didn't manufacture motorcycles. They built many other pieces of modern machinery. Including obviously Harley Rakes. A tribute to Allan Davidson and William (Bill) Harley who lived in Milwaukee near where Mike lives.

And they made many different pieces of machinery - I think they made different farming equipment and they definitely repaired broken farm machinery in the early days. And I suspect quite strongly they invented the Harley Rake otherwise it would have a different name. I am 100% serious about this. And they started their shop in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Think about it, Honda just doesn't make cars, they make motor bikes and outboard motors. Harley and Davidson were innovative mechanics essentially finding mechanised solutions to make farming easier. Hey Mike, instead of straw mat you could invest in a small hydro seeder. They are a great investment! Not that expensive and I love the outcome success from hydro seeding. I feel it comes in better than seed and straw

End product turned out good. What would a project like this cost? You don’t think you could get those stumps out with a skid steer? Only reason I’d see is how close they are to the building. I always hand throw seed, I think it spreads better than a spreader. Could you have gotten away with just bale straw on this since it’s flat, straw matting is expensive?
