Not everyone has access to the internet but one of our local papers only prints the Sunday paper and the rest of the week they post articles online. They refused to refund people who had paid in advance when they let go all of their delivery drivers and switched to only printing the Sunday edition that they send via the US Postal Service. No notice to the drivers OR their customers, and every one of the delivery drivers were out an income. The cheap b*stands labeled them as contractors so they didn't have to pay taxes, or unemployment/liability insurance, and they were given no benefits. THOSE are the people the IRS should be going after!! Disgraceful!

@@facel2 Credit card companies have been doing it for years. If you purchase something on credit (including a loan) you are promising to pay that loan off with future earned income, and the Government will tax that money as earned income from the recipient (creditor). If you discharge the debt (as in a bankruptcy filing) you have now kept your income that was promised to pay off your loan, and the Government does not get to tax the creditor for that income from you. When you discharge a debt, the creditor writes it off (as they have paid for your debt without receiving any money in return) and then the creditor files some paperwork with the Government, and the Government charges YOU for the taxes that were uncollectible from the creditor. So yes, in the Government's eyes, you have screwed them out of taxes by not paying your debt. My ex-wife worked for a couple of different bankruptcy attorneys, and this is how it works. Welcome to the real world!

I keep wondering how these folks are staying on unemployment. Texas has a set limit depending on what you worked before. When it runs out it runs out....other stats need to do this. It's about 6 months wage and about 50% of what you made so it forces you to look for something new.

Unemployment in Mexifornia depends on how long you work [at least it used to], but when that's used up there are more programs and incentives to keep people dependent on the Government instead of going back to school and getting a good job, because look what a mess that is. So when the time comes ...and it will... those of us who get a check from Uncle Sam [I'm on Disability] will have to do anything/everything the Gov't tells us or maybe we go without electricity, water, or food. But then, I'm old enough to die now, so I'll tell them to f*ck off~😆

INdeed, when they passed the stimulus they only held a carrot out but never publicly explained that it was not a tax free gift to everyone but simply an advance tax refund. So when many taxpayers filed their tax return they discovered that they would have to repay the stimulus money and magically they were not getting the refunds they expected and in many cases actually owed the IRS money. Just another lie to all by the Goernment.

When a student debt is forgiven it than goes to the IRS. The IRS considers the amount of the debt to be taxable income, this the student is required to pay. You can verify this by contacting the IRS.

What are you talking about? $6.00 Big Mac? I was paying $6.00 for a Big Mac in Vista, CA seven years ago. I was shocked then, they are probably $9.00 now. Craziest part was that they tossed the shredded lettuce in sauce. The lettuce held the sauce making it was so heavy, I couldn't finish the first one. I threw the second one away and I have never been back to McDonald's in seven years. What is their slogan? "I'm lovin' it?"

I'm disabled and can't get any help they want me to jump through hoops, but I did say I'm disabled but If I was a illegal I could get a $700 a night hotel in Newyork City. I have no insurance and no running water or a bathroom and haven't had a shower in 6 months. welcome to America!

When McDonalds first opened back in the 1050's a hamburger, fries, and coke, cost 40 cents. My first job in 1964 paid me $1.25 an hour.

Fast food automation will happen. But even that will be taxed, based upon the value it confers the restaurateur. Still cheaper than work comp, unemployment, payroll and payroll tax.

It has to increase taxes, that did has to be paid. And right now they don't have the extra money to pay it. So it's going to have to come off of new taxes. Thank you Joetatoe

I am a retired senior on Medicare I am not able to pay these high costs. I am 68 not able physically to work due to health issues and considering working in miserable pain just to pay my bills

Problem solved... 1) Offer 10-20k credit in trade school instead of 10-20k in loan forgiveness. 2) Fed Gov sue the predatory lenders.

😆 McDonald's has been going downhill for a long time, they have no quality control, every sandwich has knuckle prints,smashed sandwiches, cold fries, I'm an ex vet, worked 28 years as a plumber, from my military experience, I acquired a brain tumor, 8 hrs of brain surgery and 26 radiation treatments later and I can't work, I feel less than a man because I can't do what I'm supposed to do, which is work and take care of my family, there's a big difference in being alive and living
