Been using the screw to manually insert and eject discs on original PS4 for probably two years now. It's the only issue I've had with it since I bought it back in 2014 so I can't really complain.

i had my ps4 for 3 years and i never got this problem but i will still watch just in case

Finally a guide where it isn't complex or confusing. Most of the time when I want to fix a certain problem with my ps4 there are tutorials where they say what to do without actually showing how to do it or they show it but they usually don't bring the camera up close to show how they're fixing the problem and then all you see is the just there arm

I've always fixed this problem with a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Just slide the q-tip across the slot until you hear the rollers engage. Keep it there a few seconds to clean the rollers, wait a couple minutes for it to dry and you're usually good to go!

Happened to me for the first time since I purchased it in 2015 just recently but thankfully turning it vertically ejected the disk! Thank you so much! I didn't think it would work.

This happened to me a year ago and the disc wouldn’t eject so I had to manually eject it and then the whole system broke down and I had to buy a new ps4

I believed this was a silly solution, just place the ps4 vertical... but it is actually the only solution that makes it read the disc again every time. So thank you for this!

It WORKED!!! Turning the ps4 off, holding it vertical, turn on, press eject (IT WORKED, DISK CAME OUT!), turn off put it back horizontal. Accepts disk fine now. THANK YOU SO MUCH! This really worked! AWESOME! Thank you for your detailed instructions!

I had this model of PS4. All constant power surges damaged my PS4 and it doesn't work anymore. Before that happened the damage was that it kept ejecting my disc for no reason or powering my console off, like if someone was pressing the buttons. Then sometimes touching the buttons wouldn't even start my PS4 or eject my disc. And after it broke entirely down. I had my Overwatch PS4 game stuck. I thought I lost it. I didn't wanted to let it go. Since I thought there was a way I could retrieve the game. A lot of time passed since then, and then I got this video in the recommendations. And it saved my Overwatch disc!! So I really appreciate this!

I've never even heard of this issue. I've had my Pro since launch day.

This happened to me once and it even gave me an error code and I don’t even remember how I fixed it all I remember was that I fixed it somehow 😂

I've done that when my disk doesn't want too eject and usually works for me but I could be doing it wrong and like you said its at my own risk and thankfully it helps me fix it

This happened to me the other day and I was freaking out like "damn it finally dying on me" so I took off the part to see the disk drive and put in the disk and it fixed itself

Sir, I was horrified when my PS4 said it was not recognizing the disc that has been in it, since I started my Hogwarts game! I sought out information and came up on your video. Your voice is professionally pleasant and your video was exactly what I needed. I manually backed my disc out (it was oddly satisfying) then I restarted the system and tentatively inserted the disc again and it was a success 🥵💗💗💗 thank you so much

The first one worked but then I tried it again when It was sitting but the disc didn't go in line it got stuck

The issue I have with my PS4 is that sometimes it will randomly eject a disc when in rest mode. Not entirely sure why it does that but it automatically turns on my system when it happens too

It happened to me with my PS4 Pro made sure it was turned off turned it sideways turned it back on and pushed eject and it worked...thanks for that your awesome got a subscriber here if I ain't subscribed already

I meen my PS4 takes a few thousand centuries to eject a disc and 70,659 years to put a disc in.

I've never experience this issue.

I just bought a used PS4 on ebay, it looks good and well taken care of, everything seems ok. Even the games I got with it are prestine. So when I couldn't eject the disc I was surprised. But the power button and the eject button on the PS4 seem ok but the eject button isn't ejecting when pressed. I had to go to game options to remove disc. All this just happened yesterday and today @johnglasscock puts this video out. Thank you sir.

Happened to me 2 times. The first time it was the dust that was sitting inside so i opened it up and cleaned everywhere i could reach. The second time, it was a little metal string that is connected to the disk drive and it was out of place. You can search up videos on how to put it back if that's the case. But it could also be the rollers if they get super dirty they might not be able to eject/insert disks.

I was not able to play any of my disk games and now that you showed me that I can now play all my disc games thanks... 👍 👇

Also if your comfortable with taking your ps4 apart the rollers inside the disc drive can pop out, all you have to do is pop them back in.

My PS4 is three years old now, and I have never got a disc stuck and my fan is still as clean as new and i only use disc games never digital.

You shouldn't change from horizontal to vertical or vice versa when the console is hot. As for turning it upside down, wait until it's totally cold. Unless you want your PS4 to look like this. Hey John, I have a problem with my ps4 for a while now. My ps4 and as well as my friends ps4 have problems with crashing or it just seems like it won't respond to anything, forcing us to power it off. I've cleaned the ps4 inside and out and it performs like new and rebuilt the database many times as well as update it from internet. Do you have any idea what It might be?

You're a life saver. I just did. I got out my mk11. But when i tired to put in a different disc 💿 it wasn't takin it in, so I turn the screwdriver toothed right about 5 turns and now it's accepting disc again

It works! I turned it off and turned it on it’s side, pressed eject and out popped the disc. Turned it off and put it back flat again and off we go. Thanks ever so much ❤

If the disc is stuck inside just go on your ps4 hover over the game (dont start it up) click optoins then click the optoin that says remove disc and the disc should automatically come out *edit* this is only if the button is broken if the actual rotation thing that inserts and removes the disc is broken this wont work

It happened to me with uncharted 4 I wiped it with a clean cloth and worked now I can complete my journey!!!

I was about to sell my ps4 and had to do a final check when my disk suddenly decided not to come out lol. And guess what, I placed my ps4 vertically and thankfully the disk came out. I was never happier. Thanks it really helped
