I have always just used my finger tips, index and middle. I've tried different quick releases but they just take too much away from the experience to me. I have always been into archery but 3 years ago got heavy into it. I shoot 3 days a week with the minimum of 24 arrows each day with 72 lbs draw, it's a great workout.

I just switched to my first thumb release from an index finger release. Both are hook versions. Exactly what you said makes so much sense now.

This explains a lot. The two biggest things affecting my accuracy right now are my anchor and my grip. Sometimes after I draw I feel like my anchor is off and that it may be due to my grip. Most of my misses seem to go left so my anchor could be too steep. I’ll have to start paying close attention to the angle.

That’s crazy this video just popped up, I was hitting right bad all morning and notice my hand wasn’t comfortable in my anchor and my elbow was low. Makes sense, I’m going to pay more attention to this now

I notice left and right missed when my release hand starts to change angles. It has become part of my pre-shot routine to feel my knuckles on my jaw bone just right! Thanks for the tip!

This is also true with an index release. I use the 1st 2 nuckles on my jaw. If I use 1 I hit right if the rest of my hand is touching my face I hit left. It's really hard to notice until you start shooting 80+ then it became very apparent.

Thanks man. I was wondering if it was a difference and I have noticed sometimes I'll hit left or sometimes I'll hit right and it's whenever I'm moving my hand and I just thank you. I appreciate that. That helped me a lot

I watched ur Nebraska video of the 9pt other day and thought for sure he was gonna blow outta there from all ur release noise idk if anyone else noticed it but it drove me crazy everytime you ranged that thing was rattling like crazy

I’ve always shot a wrist strap but not sure if a lot people use there middle finger like I do instead of the index finger. It’s just how I started shooting when I was younger and stuck with it.

Just great. Something else I have to think about during a shot. Thanks. Lol. Just kiddin' Brother. That makes complete sense. Was it tough to switch from an index release to a hand held one. I was thinking of tryin' out a thumb button. But I've been shooting with an index release for 30+ years and I'm not sure I want to pay the money necessary for a great hand held release that I'll try a couple times and stop using. And it ends up in a draw somewhere collecting dust. And I'm out a couple hundred bucks.
