This game could be really good if it wasn’t a carbon copy of don’t scream. The jump scares are identical, the falling birds, the spiders, how things run at you and the camera goes all static and they disappear. I’ve played a lot of don’t scream and it’s quite sad to see a different game exactly the same as another one

Okay… they DEFINITELY took the exact vocals and line from the Alex Garland film, Men, and ripped it off. “I want to play hide and seek. You hide I seek”. Ripped word for word from that movie. Don’t know if anyone else caught that or not… they just added distortion to it.

I believe the reason why Insym is somewhat confused regarding the location of the significant areas of the game (i.e. - the cemetery, the gas station, etc.) is because the locations of these significant areas do not exist in relation to one another as your typical Euclidean geometry. Although the environment of the gameplay itself appears perfectly normal, and Euclidean in nature, you notice how often while walking through the generic woods section, the screen will black out momentarily, almost as if it were a cut in a film. I believe these are moments when the game basically repositions your character elsewhere on the map as a means to guide you towards the next significant area. One would have to imagine that all of the significant areas of this game are within a certain distance of one another, so then what is going to prevent the player from walking 100 miles in the same direction, and away from all of the significant areas??? All of the gameplay I have seen, I've never noticed anyone find an invisible wall, nor even an environmental barrier that would prevent the player from moving any further in a direction. I believe that the game teleports you to new location on those little blackouts. Otherwise It would be basically impossible to find all those places by chance, and also there is no way the map is this big. So it is probably just bunch of smaller places you teleport between. Looking at later runs, maybe it is just on the edges of playable area that you get teleported and it is just one location. Not sure,, and don't care, games has no idea how to horror.

it only looks so realistic on epic for 2 reasons. -photogrammetry textures. -everything is prerendered, prebaked and static. the flashlight doesn't even cast shadows. if the game was fully dynamic in things lighting, shadows and reflections, you would see lower fps than in fully pathtraced cyberpunk. everything prerendered, prebaked and static is the same reason why the resident evil 1 remake looked so incredibly good for the time and why the backgrounds in point and click adventures look so much better than the moving characters and interactable objects.
