This work is somewhat similar to my previous project for beginners, the penguin, especially in the first stage of carving. However, whittling a crow is a bit more challenging. The biggest problem is the beak. I carved it carefully to avoid breaking it. In the video, I'm using basswood, but I also tried birch, pine, and aspen. Of course, a harder wood is better for whittling a long beak. I filmed the main carving steps, but off-camera, I cut off excess corners, rounded the surface, and fixed mistakes.
Of course, for wood carving, I used a piece of branch. The block is 60-65mm in height and 30-35mm in diameter.
Thank you for your time, and happy carving to you
About me and my channel:

About my knife:
For wood carving, I used my regular whittling knife which I made myself; the blade length is 40 mm, and the overall length of the knife is 130 mm.
For beginners:
Using a short piece of branch can be dangerous for beginners. So, I recommend trying to use a long and comfortable piece, and trim it at the end.
