The blocked shots you're talking about is part of the problem. Oilers should NOT collapse and block shots! They are bad at blocking em and end up screening their own goalie. Just box out, tie up sticks down low and be aggressive up high to prevent shots. Skinner has played good in 2 of the 8 games this playoffs. I dont give a f%$# about his stats. He has massive flaws in his game. He is bad on his edges leading poor lateral movement and because of that he gets caught cheating a lot. He is also one of the worst goalies I've ever seen when it comes to taking away the bottom of the net. He doesn't get into a clean butterfly position and rarely uses his stick effectively. Way too many pucks get swept in on him around the crease. Silovs was a beast down low and excellent with scrambles around the crease. Literally nothing to shoot at in close. Split mcdrai and go back to reg season lines. Nuge can't drive a line. Mcleod cant drive a line. With the current way, the top line will be gassed even if we win the series. Put Carrick back in instead of brown. Holland's biggest flaw in this lineup has been size. Hes always preaching puck moving dmen. Well, for playoffs, guys like Zadorov are needed. Even last year with guys like Kostin being effective. Size matters. We are being pushed around. Only guys pushing back are old man perry, injured kane and undersized janmark/holloway/Ryan

I get that a team should NEVER press the panic button - always stay positive - but if the Oilers lose Game 4, they will be heading back to Vancouver down 3-1. If there is a panic button, it should not be pressed on the final chance game but the one before it... and in fact, it should be every playoff game. I still think this is a great series - odd that people thought Oilers would win the series easily - but I'm glad that it's been a good series no matter who wins. I know their fans hate each other, but you have to be happy that a Canadian-based team will make it to the final four.

Canucks fan here. Scary as shit every time the big boys come over the boards with Bouch and Eckholm but seriously your depth is non existent beyond those 5 players. Kane is having an impact. He can be dangerous but I’ve been saying for years as soon as RNH stops showing up and you’re seeing more Derek Ryan and Warren Foegle on the ice you know it’s smooth sailing.

What’s extremely frustrating as an Oiler fan watching these last two games is listening to the constant gaslighting by Craig Simpson telling us how poorly the team is playing and how much deeper Canucks are when it is so obvious that all 4 Oiler lines are keeping Canucks hemmed in for most of games 2 and 3. But between goal posts and great saves by Silov we are not coming out on top. Goals are going in much easier for Vancouver on Skinner. The only reason Canucks have been competitive in this series is their goaltending has badly outmatched ours.

The Oilers particularly in the second period are making it way too easy on the Canucks defense. If they keep having a bad second period they are not winning the series.

Every time and for some strange reason, when the Oilers get a mini vacation from playing they come back and play like crap. It's like they need to be playing every few days or otherwise rusts sets in faster than a quickie and they just fall apart. It's just the strangest of things.

Tough loss, I was hoping Skinner would play better then that. He doesn't have to be spectacular just average and still didn't do that. Good teams can win with average goaltending, the AVS, did it and the Hawks did it with cory Crawford, Detroit did it with Osgood. So it's been done. 4 posts unreal. Depth scoring is a problem that all teams deal with in playoffs Vancouver's depth isn't lighting it up either. But my god the reffing in this series is atrocious,no other sport has such inconsistent reffing. The difference is in the net. The Canucks play with a #3 goalie and he looks like a Vezina trophy winner. The Oilers play with their #1 and he gave 4 goals on 18 shots. Don't look any further: the Oilers are one of the most beautiful teams we've ever seen in terms of pure offensive talent, but they are plagued by poor defence and poor goaltending.

No chance Skinner starts on Tue. If they start him & plays like he did last night & gets pulled again, the Oilers will be down 3-1 & it will be the end of Skinners career. No way they risk all that playing Skinner on Tuesday. Skinner’s career is probably over with anyway. No team wants a goalie whose biggest challenge is not getting pulled from a playoff game. Only path forward for him is sitting & hoping for a miracle that Campbell & Pickard can pull this series out. Maybe then Skinner will get a chance to start a game & redeem himself in the next series.

Listen, as a pure hockey fan watching this game I can tell you the oilers dominated that game. But they were completely out goalied. Skinner may never be a playoff goalie. Accept that. Knobloch realizes that and will not tie this team to the sinking rock named skinner. Silov is a perfect example of giving an unknown goalie a chance in the play offs. It could very well be Picards chance to shine. Woody played kept starting Skinner to the teams demise last playoffs. Edmonton does not need great goaltending like Vancouver does to win this series we just need league average.

Oilers should have never hired ken holland. Ken holland destroyed detroit redwings with over pays and buying rentals with future assets. Took 5 years for yserman to get rid of hollands mistakes. Oilers needed an elite goalie and upgrade defence. Instead holland traded for 2 forwards and a small dman that aren't even playing. Ken holland has to go he should have never been hired to begin with.

Oilers are not a good defensive team. They give up lots of high danger chances on relatively fewer shots and their goalie is not elite so he won’t win the game for them.
