Except N.J., which has the strictest gun laws in the USA. N.J.S. 2C:39-3 says that BB Gun Pistols: Pellet or BB gun pistols are considered firearms in New Jersey. I have one of those and it is probably the highest built quality of any pistol I own. I just wish they had done a better job with the clip co2 piercing mechanism.

I have one of these. Really good. Accurate. Great fun. I did have to file down the piece of metal in the magazine that pushes the bbs up as it was making the trigger a bit rough. I have several pistols and this one is my favourite.

The CO2 isn’t as lethal unless you deliberately want it to. A humble note to all seasoned hoplophiles there: Please don’t read further this point. There's nothing new that I can offer you about this glorious, amalgamated world of metal, wood, polymers and both old and new concepts; you all are better informed than I am. My humble effort to pass on a few, basic things concerning ballistics and handling of the product shown in the video won't be much of your interest and you do not need to be told about the ways to eliminate the associated misconceptions often shrouding these kinds of products. If you still insist upon reading further, I'll look forward to any correction (grammatical, mathematical, logical....) and new information that you may suggest/advise. I’m sure there are many kind souls who would like to impart valuable information and enlighten a seeker. This post addresses future hoplophiles; in English, which means them who want to start out with guns and/or marksmanship as a hobby. And you are currently thinking about CO2 BB guns as suitable alternatives to a real firearm. READ IN SHORT: These things are some REAL GREAT and SAFE plinking fun. It's also a wonderful training prop prior getting into the world of shooting sports, either professionally or taking it up as a hobby. Target shooting is an effective therapy to build focus and grit done safely. Since it delivers around 85% to 90% of the real feel in its mass and make and maybe 10% to 15% of the actual recoil, you eventually get into a hang for the real thing and not feel awkward on the first day at the shooting range. A LONGER READ: Muzzle velocity of a standard 5.1 grains (0.35 g) steel BB is 450 km/hr, whereas for a standard 147 grains (9.52 grams), 9mm bullet, it's 853 km/hr. Or say, how does the 3 to 4 joules power of the steel BB sound against 481J of the 9mm? Even a .32 ACP delivers 218J and that's considered just enough stopping power against a charging human opponent or a medium-sized animal. 3J to 4J is just enough to injure naked skin of the limbs and the torso mildly. Still, the BB is lethal, right? Of course, if it hits your eyes even from a 15 feet distance; or, the neck (anywhere and around), the orifices (mouth, ears, nostrils......) if fired point blank or from a distance not exceeding a few feet. Still, it can't break bones or go beyond the endodermis. That's because tissue is a very dense and elastic matter and momentum is a big factor. WARNING: Don't even think about custom-made, heavier BBs! They'll jam and damage the breech and/or barrel. The CO2 pressure can only move a mass it's intended for. Trying to increase it for an increased momentum and therefore, energy; would be illegal. Tampering with the CO2-release valves to increase CO2 release volume for a higher muzzle velocity (i.e. energy) will only damage the action (the operating part that transmits power to the mechanism that handles the ammunition i.e. loads, locks, fires and reloads; extraction is absent in this case) besides affecting the breech and the barrel negatively. Why do I tell you this? Just to make you aware that this thing is NO MATCH for a real firearm; when you are in a life-and-death situation. Its looks might intimidate an opponent for a while; especially when lights are low; or, till you squeeze the trigger to deliver an insignificant blow. The BBs won't pass through denim, canvas or leather. That aside, using a weapon at times of crisis is a skill that you learn. It takes years and creates more room for betterment. It's the heart that kills, so a weapon should be harnessed to the killing instinct. That’s how soldiers are made. Make sure you go to bed every night with it and carry it around (unloaded, of course) whenever you are within your residence. Memorise the following. It’s actually the Riflemen’s Creed doctrine, written by Major General William H. Rupertus following the Pearl Harbor attack, published in the Marine Corps Chevron (March 14, 1942). Let’s say it’s our homage to his great outlook. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, remember? • This is my gun. There are many like it, but this one is mine. • This gun is my opportunity to a better focus and an organized life. I must master it as I must master my life. • Without me, my gun is nothing. So I must fire my handgun true, shoot straighter than the contender trying to hit the same target, static or moving. I must shoot faster, with more accuracy and a rock-steady aim. • My gun and I know what counts in a competition. I know that it is the hits that count. I will hit. • My gun is human, even as I am human. My gun is a part of me; thus, I learn him as a brother; about his weaknesses, his strengths and his sentiments. Let my gun teach me to save innocent lives. • So be it, until victory is humanity’s and there is no enemy, but peace! Till then... Use this gun for shooting practice at your backyard or terrace, sufficiently equipped to stop ricocheting BBs. Use it to develop the ethics and expertise required to handle a real firearm. In short, this is a 'simulator gun’ with a very limited damaging capability when you are in a self-defence situation. QUICK & ESSENTIAL POINTS • ALWAYS REMEMBER TO KEEP THE MUZZLE POINTED TOWARDS THE GROUND, IRRESPECTIVE OF YOUR GUN IS LOADED OR NOT. DO NOT USE IT AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR KIND WORDS. NEITHER SHOULD YOU THINK IT AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR A REAL GUN. • NEVER REST YOUR INDEX FINGER ON THE TRIGGER. NO, NOT EVEN WHEN THE SAFETY CATCH IS IN 'SAFE'. YOU'LL PLACE IT ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE SLIDE, JUST ABOVE THE TRIGGER GUARD; THE TIP OF YOUR INDEX FINGER POINTING ALONG THE DIRECTION OF THE MUZZLE. • THE SAFETY CATCH STAYS PUT TILL YOU ARE READY TO FIRE, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER YOUR GUN IS COCKED OR NOT. IT IS ADVISED NOT TO KEEP THE GUN COCKED WHEN NOT IN USE. YOU CAN NOT BRANDISH IN PUBLIC ANYTHING THAT RESEMBLES A WEAPON. CONCEAL CARRY IS NOT LEGAL UNLESS WITH A PERMIT. • ALWAYS PUT THE GUN IN A PLACE ACCESSIBLE ONLY TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING IT. How much is the cost of it ?

The fact that this costs around 6000 rupees in U.S. and 48000 rupees in India is insane. In U.S. you could buy a real beretta for that price AND still U.S. has less overall crime BECAUSE of easy access to gun and deterrence due to them.
