Duke finishes its 2024 season with their 22nd trip to the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Kerstin Kimel tallied her 350th-career victory as the No. 25 Duke women’s lacrosse team tallied a 14-11 victory over Louisville on April 12. Kimel’s 350 career wins ranks her sixth among Division I active
head coaches. She owns 346 wins at the helm of the Blue Devils and four at Davidson in 1994.
Seniors Katie DeSimone and Maddie McCorkle and junior Reilly Traynor were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Associations’ (IWLCA) All-South Region team on Thursday.
DeSimone landed on the first team while McCorkle and Traynor earned spots on the second team.
DeSimone was stellar this season for the Blue Devils, putting up impressive numbers as one of the nation's top attackers.
She led the team and finished the season tied for 18th nationally in goals (63) and tied for 23rd in points (85). She was just the third active player in Division I with at least 190 career goals and 75 career assists as of May 9th and is the only player in Duke history with those numbers.
