I heard all the issues with frame rate and delayed audio are from not running the game from SSD.

That may be the case, this was on an ssd though, I moved it to a different drive and got no better fps, but haven't seen delayed dialogue afterwards.

Kinda seems like things are being streamed instead of pre-cached, or like streaming that should have been fine is itself being delayed?

Notice the sharper transients on weapon handling vs the gunshot. There must be a compressor pushing down on it. 🤔

Or definitely going to some other kind of bus, like weapon sounds vs. "Foley" of handling.

Thanks, great video! You'd think on a game at this level flavour DX would always be ducked against DX that drives gameplay narrative. Game looks amazing tho.

It is, though the story is confusing, as with other Bethesda games I've struggled to really be in a situation to know "what is the main story reall??"

@@CujoSound Yea everything can’t be Ghost of Tsusima. But their solution is so elegant of just letting all sounds fade out and be subdued during dialogue. Some of the scenes in that game is like watching a Bong Joon ho movie! You’d think games of Starfield's magnitude would have the resources to implement a concept that worked equally well.

I installed it. Realised everything was set to stream and my HDD wouldn't keep up. Uninstalled after 20 minutes and refunded my game pass 😂

Argh. Still gonna give it a shot here, but had to move it to a very specific drive, nothing can run in the background, drive only that game and other things, and this is a fairly new machine.
