His videos feature him in view, along with some awesome video editing, and good humor. Getting on camera to make these videos can go a long way! The third person in a hero shooter is nothing new, many games of this genre were already like this, even long before Overwatch existed, for example Gigantic, Global Agenda, plants vs. zombies garden warfare, rogue company, smnc, paladins can also be played in third person, etc.

I love how transparent the devs. Of these new games are, like palworld and helldivers 2. I think it should be a no brainer to always tell the players about the game to get feedback on what they want. In the end you’d expect the waiter to ask you about the filling of the burger instead of just adding whatever without asking.

Third person is what really sells it for me, it's always so jarring taking a break from an FPS because part of getting back into them is getting used to what space and scale means in each game and it doesn't just affect gameplay, it makes some of us poor gamers sick while we adapt. Also how depressing would it be to do a cool twisting doublebackflip dodge on Spidey and all you get to see is a pixel blender!

Its weird to me to see Loki with the staff again. I acknowledge idk the "time-setting" this game is in. However, this game is launching after the close of MCU "Loki" season 2. So, weather this game takes more influence from comics or MCU, the Loki's that exist are so much more than the loki who rocked the staff. IDK, maybe its just me.

Great Vid! There are definitely similarities between Marvel Rivals and Overwatch, but I think in time, the game will carve its own path in both mechanics / pacing and settle into its own. Plus, having the Marvel IP behind it is a huge boost as well.

I'm really happy they made Rocket's gun huge, small characters in shooter games usually are a problem cause of how hard they are to target (looking at you Imp from GW2), but by making his weapon bigger i think that'll help a bit

One downside though to the third person outside of straight gameplay, is that you don’t feel like the character is YOU. You feel like you’re playing that character. In overwatch, whether you know it or not, when you play a hero, especially when you play them a lot, you feel their personality when you play. It’s almost like you’re the one doing the talking in dialogues with your teammates. But when it’s third person, you feel like an outsider kind of just controlling your hero instead of being your hero. Not saying it’s the wrong decision for rivals to go for 3rd person, but that’s just part of what makes overwatch feel good

Please don’t be shy to add more villains. Should be dodges and melee attacks for each character. Some type of defense. We need some fist fighting some way in this

What are you guy’s opinions about third person peeking (being able to see the side of a corner without revealing yourself)? To be fair, I like it, but that’s because of my long story with 3rd person games and I always used the angles to my utmost advantage.

this game will have a different feeling from overwatch and 3rd person is a decent size change but what will actually prevent it from being an overwatch clone has nothing to with that it comes down to the destructible enviroments and team up moves as shown btw the person camera problem you named isnt even a problem if everyone is in third person everyone can see around a corner just make sure you check yours

Good job reading what people can already read. >.> The one thing I am scared about is this game is being made by Netease which doesn't have a good track Record for their games. Marvel Super War which they were supposed to bring to NA ended up getting cancelled which doesn't look good for them. Marvel Duel which didn't last long. They don't seem to have a good track record with Marvel games... They got Knives out which is a terrible Battle Royale. Lord of The Rings Rise to War which is pretty bad and is just a massive cash grab. Harry Potter Magic Awakened which is a massive cash grab. Lost Light and fps which has a 19,000 mostly negative review on Steam. Then you got Dead By Daylight Mobile which is only doing well because they don't have to do much outside of translations and be a publisher so they don't have much part in that. The only game they have out right now that is doing well is Naraka Bladepoint which did bad at launch but they ended up fixing everything and now there is around 200k daily players. They have an EA Survival game called Once Human that is doing good. So, Netease is pretty hit or miss with their games as most of them don't do well and some do good.
