This is how Mikel Arteta EVOLVES Arsenal next...

Each season in his time as Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has changed something significantly from a tactical POV. In today's video, I provide an in-depth tactical analysis of what those changes SHOULD and WILL be as we approach the 2024/25 Premier League season, where Arsenal will be looking to topple Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and win the title.
This video has two parts:
1. Changing how Arsenal attack: players like Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, Declan Rice, and Ben White have been integral in the Gunners attack. However, at times Arsenal need to be more matter-of-fact when going forward, especially in the big, knockout UCL ties against teams like Bayern Munich, the team Arsenal lost to in the quarter-finals last year.
2. Becoming more traditional
- the next tactical iteration of Arsenal may well be a bit more traditional in the sense that full-backs may operate slightly more like full-backs, and midfielder's like midfielder's. This comes as Arteta wants to build an efficient attack with players who can dominate their zones.
What does all this mean for the future's of Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira, Emile Smith-Rowe, Jorginho, and the potential signings of Victor Osimhen, Alphonso Davies, Amadou Onana, and more!
This channel covers the entire Premier League including Manchester United, Eric ten Hag, Chelsea, Enzo Maresca, Tottenhma Hotspur or Spurs, Ange Postecoglou, Liverpool, Arne Slot, Newcastle, Eddie Howe, Aston Villa, Unai Emery, and more!
This channel also covers the 2024 EURO's or European Championships, including Spain, Germany, Italy, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Slovenia, Romania, Switzerland, Denmark, Georgia, Portugal, Slovakia, Austria, and Turkey!

I just think Saka needs complete freedom on that right hand side. He's not rigid to a structure which limits him, like Pep had with Messi and now Foden. When he gets the ball he can just do what he likes and not what the manager wants, people around him adapt to him.

I could really see the progression working with Kimmich. As the RDM he could cover for White to overlap more often, allowing Saka and Ode further central. As a RCM he would allow Odegaard to solve the LCM problem and add plenty of half space crosses. All while still giving Saka and White a top passer to bounce off. Kimmich to City could also be devastating for us, similar to Rice last season.
@beaveraldinho
@beaveraldinho 3 күн бұрын
Contrary to popular belief, I would be glad to see most of the money spent deeper once again. As an example, I would be in dream land with a window of: Hernandez/Calafiori/Davies Kimmich Onana Doue/(would have liked Sesko) I think someone taking some minutes off Saka will improve his performance through freshness. People are discounting Jesus massively but I believe he can be the one to take those rw minutes. Both he and Martinelli will likely revert to mean, with better performances. Somewhere in between last season and the one before would be fine. Essentially, improve the system around them further, give them a little more rest and the current forwards will shine.
@harveygration
@harveygration 3 күн бұрын
As I’ve said spending money deeper is the safe way to go this summer-and I think it’s what the club is gonna do. Fortify the build up and squad holes in MF and DF. Add some extra details in attack is what they are thinking currently. Not necessarily what I would do but the market environment is tricky atm. I would never say no to Kimmich. Part of me wants to stop talking about an Ode role change because there is no sample size to suggest we will actually see it. Kimmich would absolutley allow Saka more central. From RCM he would get into the same areas as vs us from RB in the UCL. But in himself offers a WC LCM too.

Harvey just a question, when you talk about more freedom in attack, what are your thoughts on transition inevitabilites such as the Rashfords and Leaos who don't have as much defensive work rate, is that a problem or a compromise Arsenal should take for future attackers and current ones such as Martinelli and Saka?
@harveygration

Defensive work ethic is something Arteta will always want in whoever he signs if we are being honest (but that is not to say that Arteta doesn’t feel like those players you mentioned cant be fixed). I think leaving a man on the last line would improve us in transition-of course-but it’s not the whole deal.

If you want two controllers on our LHS (which is Ok) it means it is essential for a Lw to be the marquee attacker. More invincibly in our defence than Chelsea 05 IMO. More hybrid defenders than out and out specialists. Atm we are a bit Madrid-y in our 1st/2nd phase build up, but a bit Spain 2012 in our final third play. Sign Onana in the summer and we are officially Bayern Munich-fied though 😂

Hope we don’t go with Onana, Rice midfield, the ball progression will be horrendous, unless you with Zinny inverting. I think the most important thing to do is fix the left hand side out, so we won’t be so predictable and easy to defend against, like the away leg at Bayern Munich.

Amadou Onana ? I watched him for belgium and he played loads of fast forward passes but i haven't seen him for Everton. He's definitely much better passing progressively than Rice anyway and a good strong physical presence too

For Onana the bits he has to work on is receiving off the back foot in build up and spatial awareness at times w back to goal. But he is so so underrated on the ball. Volume progressor in terms of line breakers; would become the bravest on the ball in our current midfield. But the LHS is also key.

I don’t think Ødegaard would be better playing deeper either. His impact zone is too limited. He excels at intricate one-twos and relies heavily on his social close proximity relationism football. We need a quicker, faster, and longer-range passer to pair with Rice. We can play Havertz at the tip of the diamond with that.
