Osasuyi Ojomo 🌸 I remember ironing my uniform, in all girls school was pleats, even gym mini skirt It was time consuming but satisfying in the end lol I never bought an outfit with pleats since, just goes to show how fond I was ironing them lol However watching the pleated fabric is making me want to own a beautiful green pleated skirt My mom loved pleats, she had quite a few items in her wardrobe

Osasuyi Ojomo I had a pleated cotton skirt and my dry cleaner refused to iron them in after dry cleaning for the millionth time. I then did it myself. It wasn’t like I didn’t pay him. He charged for every pleat and I was happy to pay it.

is there any other way to do that? what is the name of the tool box to permanent the pleat? I don't have that tool. Is there any other way to make pleats without the box machine? can it be steamed? or how to do the iron? Did they give anything special to make the pleat permanent?

This is so fascinating. I never thought that the pleating workshop would be so established and experienced! The boss was well spoken, clearly very good at what he does and explaining what he does, I didn't get confused about the process whatsoever. What a tiny team, sorry to hear about the 2 furloughed workers, hope they get to return soon. Thanks Kim for the thoughtful questions, as well as the sensible mask wearing under pandemic, I'm really pleasantly surprised :) Please stay safe~

Fascinating video. I owned a beautiful vintage dress that someone accidentally put in the washing machine. It was satin back crepe, beautifully pleated, alas it was never the same again. Now I know why. As I watched I wondered if it had been pleated originally by this company. There is something very magical about good pleating especially on fabric that moves well. I loved the choice of green. No wonder you rarely see pleated garments except at very high end. Have to say the leather pleating was so sumptuous, you would just want to run your hands over it.

I'm impressed! When I was a teenager my mom used to give me fabrics with notes, to take to the garment district of New York City for pleating. I would drop them off and collect them another day. I never got to see how they were made. I learned basic large pleating from her while learning to sew. I had a love/hate of pleats. I loved wearing them and even bought a skirt in my country with pleating of the same style and color of @4.37(I wore it to death,of the pleats).😂 As a little girl I hated ironing my uniform pleats and I still hate ironing pleats. This was nice to see. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kim, I thought the man was going to teach us how he made the pleated pattern for us to have an idea. Better still please where can I get the pleating machine to buy? I'm in Ghana.

I like how I can see you smile in spite of the face mask. Kind of goes to show that we can still show emotions even when most of our face is covered. Also, pleating is... Wild! Some of those samples were so intricate I can't even imagine how they made the cardboard moulds. I suspect being able to do that is really the secret to pleating, and why it takes professionals to do that sort of job.

Great video guys, very informative. It is good to see someone supporting other British companies. We all see and love the fabrics, but very few, including me, actually know how these are created. Well done! xx

The green and copper was actually very pretty. I know you were just showing the green fabric, but the band of copper at the top was a nice, unintended effect.

You are a beautiful lady and I love your style of clothes. Very interesting video. I'm shortening a crooked hem pleated prom dress for someone so this helped by seeing how pleats are made.
