You Guys are an Amazing Family and Excellent Content Creators. The amount of expertise needed to make these Videos is just overwhelming. Make fast and quite accurate storyboards, select the needed gear, make sure you have battery, extra battery and storage cards, set the angles, the actions to film, record video, record audio, fly the drone, sort out all the recordings, choose and cut clips, edit, mix, FX, choose the right music for the right images (the right music is hard to find...) etc.. etc...In addition to that, you need to choose the next and safest route, watch the weather charts and make decisions on speed versus safety ,versus confort, take care of the boat, take care of yourselves, take care of the kids, overcome the fear, treat stuff like entering and getting out of countries, sorting out visas, God... And the Final Result is Always Absolutely Professional. Congratulations and Always Wish you Guys the Best!

A typical day in the life of Sailing Nahoa. Visiting new land, exploring the beach and raising children on the boat while the parents work the sails. Not to mention all of the mundane task (cooking, cleaning, bathing, laundry, playing with the kids) May your travels be blessed by calm seas and fulfilling explorations.

My old Dad used to say anyone can put sail on a boat but it takes a sailor to get it off. First time I heard this was under full sail on a brand new little cruiser on the way to the first Australian wooden boat festival. Heading up the D'entrecasteaux channel, across the mouth of the huon River with a hard southerly gale running. He and his mate was snug down below and I was left on deck, with the Lee scuppers well under water wondering just how much the boat could take before either the stick came out or she turned turtle! It must be said the boat in question was only 23 foot long and was a motor sailor design by the great Jock Muir. With minimal ballast, and NOT designed for this type of hard sailing I was having a ball. When Dad finally poked his head up he nearly had a fit. That was when I first heard those words followed by something that sounded really like "Bloody idiot". Getting sail off can be challenging sometimes!

I think your spinnaker operation is pretty much how it usually goes. Simple concept, when it all works out - makes for a great video - that we all see and then when we open a spinnaker or douse it we feel like we must've not quite.... Nope, that's just how they are. My shoulders are still popping after dousing an asymmetric three times on two separate occasions months ago. As a kayaker I've learned to never do anything forceful with your arms raised. The second time I was pulling down on the sock line and the guy letting out the sheet apparently didn't let it out fast enough, so I got yanked up off the deck. One technique is to attach a ratchet block to the deck so you can pull up instead of down, and no yank back. I'm two weeks overdue for a trip to the chandlery but that's on the list.

I found a big chunk of ambergris off the coast of California. I thought it was a rock, until it stunk up my car on the way home as it warmed up. Worth a bunch of money, but can’t sell it. Have it double bagged and in an airtight container so it doesn’t stink up my house. Cheers!!

Taking down a spinnaker.. 1 take out the pressure by hoisting the main or unfurl a headsail. 2 let the spi "hide" behind the other sail to break the flow of air. 3 pull the sock down. Love your videos.

A spinnaker pole and a mainsail with the right vang/leech tension would help limit the rocking motion considerably. Also when dropping the spinnaker you need to really ease the sheet. A flapping. Sail is ok if you steer up slightly to keep it to leeward

Hog confinements are terrible. It is pretty much the same in the the US. They do have room to turn around but are in very crowded conditions. The same for chickens. I had a small hobby farm and it was very satisfying to see our pigs and chickens enjoying free range. We harvested our animals in their homes so they wouldn’t experience the stress of being transported to the slaughter house. It was important to me and also difficult to harvest them where they experienced no fear.
@carenclemmons5002

I, too, think I would have difficulty ‘harvesting’ them. Doesn’t really help using any word that objectifies them. They have personal idiosyncratic traits that make each special. Sorry, I felt your dilemma.

Ambergris ranges in color. It can be a marbled mixture of colors or predominantly Black/Onyx, Brown, Yellow, Grey, Off-white, or even have earth tone reddish hues to it like if you could polish red pumice. It doesn't always have a smooth exterior appearance either it depends how long it was in the ocean and surf. It can appear rough in texture.

@5:19 don't want to be debbie downer or ron the stickler but you should really be sitting on the other side of the boat driving it's dangerous if you don't, ONLY reason being is if you had to turn hard hard right you can't because you're reach won't be enough to push the outboard engine control hard left to turn hard right. with a right or left controlled outboard engine it determines which side of the boat you should drive from if it's on the left like yours you should sit on the left if it's on the right sit on the right

Ben’s view on ambergris is the right one, in my opinion. The whole family should constantly keep an eye for it. It’s a harmless activity, like truffle-hunting. I have read that spermies produce it as a way of dealing with squid-beaks, squid being their favourite food.
@reynaldneron9012
@reynaldneron9012 Жыл бұрын
May I correct something: Ambergris is vomited by sperm whales, not pooped; When they eat they prey, including many squids, what thy can not digest (like some bones of the squids) is vomited (before digestion), so i does not go through the digestive system, and theefore is not pooped...
