thx for the video i had the same problem with hp elitebook 840 g3 no power turned out to be PCH very hot when injecting 1.5 amps the right to repair for us now is still out of reach ......

same with hp probook 450 G6. All coils around the CPU are shorted and from 5 from 6 i get the right Voltage Output (even they are shorted) ... One coil does nothing. I removed the Dual Gate Mosfet from this coil but the same as before. Now I´ll desolder all the Coils but I´m sure the CPU is dead. Before that, the 19,5 Volt Rail was shorted and I found the guilty Cap by Voltage injection . Now, when i plug in the charger, the LED from the charging Port is lighting up for 3 sec. and without powering on, the cpu gets hot on it´s own.

Pin 8 is opposite the Dimple ? Why cant that be shorted please ?

Is it possible that this problem causes the chipset to become hot when only the charger is connected? The laptop shows the charger light but does not work

You can ever seen the short circuit damage just from the burn marks.
