ive been riding fixed for over a decade and consider myself an excellent rider. Here is what not to do. 1. touching other peoples cars. do you want someone touching your bike while you’re riding? no! 2. getting unnecessary close to running into shit then swerving out of the way. this ones pretty self explanatory. 3. swerving side to side for no reason. its fun until you hit a patch of sand you didn’t see and the front wheel slides out.

As a bike messenger in NYC, I touch & hold on cars every here and there, never had someone beep on me for that, even if holding on there for 10-15secounds. It makes me faster on my fixed! What’s ur problem with that. Maybe it depends on the city, people are so materialistic it’s crazy.

The shanghai police fined this young man for all the rules he broke in the video and made tutorial videos for cycling hand gestures and signaling on a bike which also went viral as people realized the potential danger.

Closing the rear view mirror of a running car in the middle of the road is not just moronic, but dangerous to everyone on your lane. There’s no way you can justify doing that. I ride a bicycle to work every day and I would never, ever do that in any situation. I also drive a car and I would feel blinded if my driver side rear view mirror is suddenly unavailable in traffic.

After living in Beijing for 4 solid years and riding a Fixie there for good 3 years I must say that Share bike riders (like ofo, mobike etc) cause more incidents and less focused on a road then fixies. People put on earphones and scroll their wechat while riding it. They pay no attention to what’s happening around them. Real menace on the streets!

I know, people are getting so vexed, but in this video there is literally a guy riding the wrong way down a one way street and so many people running red lights. Car drivers really hate when cyclists break rules, but they break rules of the road ALL the time and never think twice about it.
