I think a big mistake many make is where you make your first stitch after your chain. Some pattern say chain counts as 1st stitch and others say it doesn't count. Placement where to insert hook at beginning of row can be confusing. A visual would be helpful.

Thank you, I hate, hate, HATE. Counting. My brain cannot remember if I said 24 or 34 and then I spend 20 minutes counting so I’ll 100% be using this tip from now on especially in my blankets

I started crochet a few days ago. I've started to get the hang of it with chains. I'm still having a bit of hard time with counting my stitches because I'm not the person who will count it do math.

Thank you. This has been so helpful for a beginner like me. I was messing up the count of stitches and got confused where to hook for the last stitch of the row that i was undoing the whole thing and starting again 😭.

Crochet that pattern larger and sew in a silky thin inner lining and you have a summer dress for a living baby girl or woman or lady instead of a doll

Is there any way to fix this issue after it’s already happened? I’ve been working on a piece and have realized way too late and that I slowly put too many stitches in and went from 76 on the bottom to 82 on the top. I realized I first messed up about halfway through and it would take a LONG time to have to redo all of that. Is there a way to cut stitches out and still make it work?

I think the mistake most beginners do is not the placement of the last stitch but the rather the first stitch after the chain
