I think yall are misrepresenting what was said… “I wouldn’t put it past him” - what is she supposed to say, no he has no shot? She’s being vague because there’s a chance. Cowan is not physically ready for the NHL, and anyone saying he is based on what they’ve seen him do in junior is seriously missing something. Is Cowan ready to go into the corner with Nikita Zadorov? Ryan McDonagh? Jacob Truba? No, he isn’t. He’ll get the Fraser Minten treatment, that’s all. Cool y’all’s jets. You know who’s really gonna replace Bertuzzi in the top 6? McMann, Knies, Robertson (who won’t be traded cause he has no leverage). Not a kid who needs to gain 25 pounds. Cowan will be a stud one day, but this takes time.

Since Cowan can't play in the AHL, he's too young, the Leafs the choice between keeping him...if only forty games as a Leafs or with does he return to London? Kinda up to Cowan in pre season and his eight games as a Leaf whether he stays in the NHL or not .

Why don't you wait for Traverse City & maincamp before making your amateur prediction. Wickenheiser & the Leaf development people have seen him up close unlike you. She's of the opinion "he's going to make a real push" & that "he's very close". Her take has more value than yours. Assuming he continues the strides made this year as OHL MVP, then playoff MVP & leading scorer at the Mem Cup, it's likely he gets a 9 game NHL test drive. As she said "he's proved us wrong at every level, so nothing would surprise me".

@@johnsummerhill8323 Eventiually, yes. I agree But, he and Matt's had great chemisry in the second half last season so I imagine he starts the year on Auston's wing. Then depending on who they have slotted in 3C (Kamph, Jarny) is playing, you'll probably see Domi take over. It also depends on how big of a step Knies takes and whether or not Cowen and/or Minten makes the club out of camp. Should be interesting to see.
@johnsummerhill8323
@johnsummerhill8323 26 күн бұрын
@@jayp.6166 That was only about 15 games then the chemistry started to disappear. New coach so anything goes.There is no chance Cowan or Minten are NHL ready. Minten will either be with Cincinnati or the Marlies. Cowan may get a couple of games with the Leafs then back to junior.
@jayp.6166
@jayp.6166 26 күн бұрын
@@johnsummerhill8323 It was for sure more than 15 games. But it doesn't really matter. I agree with you about Minten and Cowen. Cowen probably gets 4-8 games and then goes back to London to dominate and try to win a Mem Cup. I think they'll want to keep Minten with the Marlies, even for the simple fact that they can keep a closer eye on him. He will also have the benefit of having the Leafs staff (trainers, coaches, etc.) I figure by next season they should both be ready for the Show....hopefully. After the draft, I was arguing (sort of) with this guy on here who was claiming that Knies-Minten-Cowen was going to be our 3rd line this season. Talking about their line dominating and Cowen pushing for the Calder. Was pretty funny, actually lol

My favorite thing about this. Is we the media and fans may say whatever we want. Trade marner, sign this player. Fact is. We are not the leafs front office.
