Sampo was Sparkle from the beginning. It's actually hinted from the start where "he" mistook Firefly for March7th , and "he" introduced himself as "Sampo" (the real Sampo always goes "Sampo Koski"). "He" made some mistakes trying to imitate Sampo, and basically broke character after that "vs trash king" dream --- the real Sampo wouldnt act that serious towards Trailblazer

For those who have finished the Penacony arc like me and many others, it's very interesting to relive the story with all the information we have at the end of this arc. Also, your theories are very intriguing. Of course, I won't say which of your theories are correct or incorrect. Fun Fact, similar to if you refuse to join the Astral Express at the end of the prologue story on Herta Space Station, there is a secret ending if after the Sam fight and talking to Aventurine & Black Swan, instead of going upstairs to talk to Aventurine again you just turn around and walk out of the room. Also there is a small scene if you return to Firefly's secret base, however it becomes unavailable after completely the 2.1 story iirc, so I'd recommend doing it at the start part 16 (if you want to include it in the video).

Glad you're doing Penacony! Others have said it but the sooner you're able to get through at least 2.1, the better. It's going to be really hard not to be spoiled about one certain thing.

Now that you've fully completed the patch 2.0 story, you can now react to the Star Rail Live 2024 concert without spoiling anything. I highly recommend it as there are a lot of amazing performances. Though I understand if you want to wait a little longer to not get spoilery recommendations from KZfaq.

Good on you not spending all of Firefly's money, cause she gets really sad if you do lol. This was such a strong start to the story, especially after the kinda low point the Luofu was. If Firefly's character wasnt amazing as it was, both her English and Japanese voices also have illnesses that are quite similar to what Entropy Loss Syndrome does. Analesa Fisher (EN) has had juvenile idiopathic arthritis, yes is also a killer drummer. Tomori Kusunoki (JP) has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which is a set of diseases that mess with joints and other chronic pain, forcing her to retire from being part of the Love Live idol series.

I do recommend doing the Sparkle/Black Swan Companion quest if possible before tackling 2.1! It's technically not necessary BUT it does kind of give a little context on why Sampo specifically was even used here. That and also of course a bit insight on Black Swan and Sparkle as characters! (The companion quest for the 2 characters are combined together so it'll be a singular experience! Also, it's currently the ONLY Penacony companion quest!)

Oh man, it's so interesting rewatching Penacony with all the hindsight now that I finished the story. And of course the Firefly scenes still hit hard, so looking forward to following along with your playthrough! You hit the feeling right on the head, I was thinking the whole story gave me such a "murder on the orient express" vibe. As others have mentioned, check in at Firefly's "secret base" in between patches, and I also recommend taking a detour for the Black Swan/Sparkle companion quest.

Loved your reactions! The Sam fight was epic. Not having fully built characters makes these story fights way more intense and the bosses more badass. So, in that way I'm not too bothered by your unfinished character builds :D Concerning the 2x speed thing, maybe you could switch to 1x speed for the bosses' turn only? That way you can still see their animations fully without being bothered by your own slow ults and so on. Especially with the more talkative bosses like Sam, their voicelines seem to be only optimised for 1x speed as well, in 2x they can't even finish their lines sometimes haha.

Btw, before you start the next part, you're gonna want to do the Companion Quest "Masquerade Duet" as it also sets some things for the finale. It was release in 2.0 so now it would be the best time for you to do it but it's no problem if you wanna do the next part before it.

Only meant to tune in for the highlights but ended up getting sucked in and watching the whole thing. Editing it down really makes it flow and easy to watch. There's so many fun references and tidbits looking back at the early story. Yes! Another Sunday believer. Bonus info: Boothill passive stacks allow him to break enemy bar faster and deal more dmg. The thing is he keeps them after the fight, so you can go and fight 1 small group of mobs with him and then attempt the boss with his buff active making him stronger from the start. To get a stack you need to break/kill enemy that is in his E state ;)

Idk how far you've been through in Penacony but do recheck Firefly base after every single main quest (per patch) because the description will change on how far you've been through in main quest.

When people say you're in for along ride, they mean it, 2.2 was 7 hours long Also now I can say this: Meet Black Swan, tied with Yukong for my favorite character in the game (I can't choose, I tried). Also fun fact, Anelesa Fisher, Firefly's VA, has physical conditions herself so when she read about Firefly's on the rooftop scene she started crying but was also glad she could use her own emotions to portrait it. Firefly's Jp voice actor actually has the same syndrome Firefly does. Also the song sung in that scene is done by Chevy, who does all of Robin's songs in this game.

I think it would be interesting for you to do the BlackSwan/Sparkle companion quest at least before the 2.2 main quest. This companion quest was released in 2.0 and does shed a little bit more light into Sparkle's character. I personally don't think it's that important to record it, you can just play it if you want. However, I do think it would be cool for you to play the quest before the 2.2 main quest :) just a suggestion tho !

If you didnt know, all of achrons red line dialogues are actually randomised except for the questions at the start. You can get different answers. Theres also an easter egg where if you refuse acheron when shes trying to join you and black swan.

Please rewatch and remember what acheron said in our first meeting : in the cutscene and before. Remember this line, trust me ;)

Honestly every one of Gallagher's bonus abilities are really good and helps his role as a healer shine a lot better and at least for me I unlocked those first before leveling up his actual traces

4:18:38 While I agree that Aventurine is more complex than initially portrayed, I don't think I would ever say that the IPC as an organization is "good". I don't think there's really been anything that portrays them that way in-game. Characters that work for the IPC, maybe, but not the corporation itself. Galactic Mega Church Dutch East India company is only out for itself. Aventurine is here to "reclaim" something "owned" by the IPC, and it's been mentioned in the story so far that the IPC used to own Penacony's star system, Asdana, and operate a penal colony & mine here. From the 2.0 readables/map interactables, it was pretty grim. That being said, I love how Penacony's story circles back on itself. Things are set up that pay off 2-3 patches later, or even in the same patch. Phrases are repeated, but often later with different context. The writing is really tight. Non-spoiler example: When talking to Sparkle, Aventurine mentions "My friends from The Garden of Recollection and The Astral Express...", setting up that Black Swan & Aventurine were working together in some way. A small detail that I didn't recognize until watching playthroughs later.

About Sampo and Sparkle, as you asked, It's heavly implied that it was always Sparkle pretending to be Sampo in the 2.0 quest as he: Mistakes Firefly for March(though it seems like he knew about Firefly, maybe it was a mistake on purpose to give a hint, masked fools are way too caotic). He didn't introduce himself as Sampo Koski only Sampo. In some moments the audio / his voice sounds distorted/weird. And during the reveal where Sparkle sent us to "the real dreamscape", she says that Sampo glossed over many things when telling about Jarillo and the Trailblazer to her. Remember the ending in Belobog where Sampo was talking in front of some TVs and kinda breaking the fourth wall? It's spectulated that he was contacting The Tavern (some kind of masked fools base). There is a couple more tid bits about them, one in Sparkle companion quest, which you could do now(I don't like it, but you did have fun with Luocha's... and the ending is worth it, though not important for the main quest in Penacony). The other one is way more hidden, it's during the "Pokemon event" Aetherium Wars, you can talk to Sampo and he mentions Sparkle and gives his opinion about her. It was before Penacony and not part of any story, just a random interaction that a lot of people didn't see, so if you want I could try to find his answer and post here too.
