Heh, even the “bird dick” thing changed! Birds don’t have dicks, as the creative staff learned (well, most don’t). Stolas in particular is VERY different, but you’ll have so much more fun if it’s a surprise. One true story, though. The pilot VA for Stolas made up gibberish to bleep out, which is what VAs normally do, but the Stolas for the regular show came up with three solid minutes of improved stuff he wanted to do to Blitz. Viv and the other creators sat there with their jaws dropped before they decided that yes, they would have to bleep almost all of it. Have fun!

The voice actor for Stolas gets changed after the pilot, but THIS one didn't actually have to say crazy explicit shit. The bleeps were added strategically to make it sound that way. The second voice actor made a different choice....

A design note about the striped horns is that they also show gender. If you're born female, you have very thin white lines on your horns, but if you're born male, the white and black stripes are about the same length

Yes, Blitz was purring. He often afffects cat-like bahivors. And, outside the broad strokes, the pilot for this was officially decanonized due to some things (like Loona [note spelling] having syphillis) not the direction they wanted to go with the character.

Helluva Boss goes way deeper into Hell then Hazbin does. There will be A LOT of new characters.

Although the pilot is not canon anymore, It's a nice way to introduce the characters and what they do. Also, you're gonna love this series! Aye! Imp horns! Also, an important thing to note, the imps with with thick black stripes are male and the imps with thin white stripes are female.

If you land in Hell, you’ll be restricted to the Pride Ring since sinners can’t leave hence the annual extermination and Imp City is only a couple hours away from Pentagram City

Hell is split into seven rings stacked one on top of the other (from top to bottom: Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Envy, and Sloth), and there are two basic types of demon (Sinners and Hellborns). Hellborns are free to settle and travel around to any ring, but Sinners are not allowed to step foot outside the Pride ring. Helluva Boss focuses on the Hellborns, so unlike Hazbin, we _will_ be travelling to other rings outside of Pride throughout the series. Hazbin is set exclusively in Pentagram City, which is the capital city of the Pride Ring, and is the city where the vast majority of Sinners wind up living. We're in Imp City atm, which is also within the Pride Ring. It's a settlement of mostly imps, other lower-class Hellborns, and their hybrids. Although, there's still a small population of Sinners who live there as well.

Oh, since you already noticed horns, something for future reference, imps have some specific design choices that denote sexual dimorphism. Male horns have the thick, alternating black and white sections, while female imps have mostly black horns with just the thin white lines between segments. Their hair color is also different: if they have hair, male imps have white hair, female imps have black hair. That's not quite enforced in this pilot, but is going forward.

It's funny that you bring up Billy and Mandy because the voice of Billy (Richard Horvitz) is the same voice actor as Moxxie.

The pilot is always so freaking weird to come back to. Not that it's bad, but the changes made from the pilot to the show itself were all for the better imo, I love Helluva and Hazbin a lot, but after re-watching them both a ton, I'm actually starting to like Helluva MORE than Hazbin, especially in the second season (which who knows maybe that will change when season two of Hazbin drops!)

I don't think the crew has ever directly killed a kid in the actual show, but uh that's a low bar and they don't clear it by much.

So here's hell's hierarchy just to give a better idea of the characters positions. At the bottom we have Hellhounds&Imps, both hellborn species and lowest of the low. IMP is, get this, all imps, except Loona who is ofcourse a hellhound Then we have every other (regular) Hellborn species. This is self explanatory, creatures born from hell. Unlike sinners though they are mortal and have normal life spans. Next are Sinners, we're all familiar with them from Hazbin, people who died, got deemed bad enough to go to hell. Above them are Overlords, again we're all familiar with them, Sinners who have gained power mostly through owning souls. After Overlords we have the Ars Goetia, 72 royal demons, led by King Paimon. Stolas, the owl guy with a VERY... Interesting, vocabulary, is a Goetia. Up next are the 7 Deadly sins (well 6 since one is very clearly above the others and you know who it is). See hell in this show is divided into rings. Each ruled by one of the deadly sins. Pride is at the top, and is the only ring Sinners can be in, ofcourse IMP's office being set in pride aswell. Right here, second to top, we have Charlie&Lillith, no explanation needed here, nor for the top That being Lucifer, sin of pride, ruler of hell. And if you read this i hope this was helpful. Speaking of Invader Zim, last week I remembered that cartoon, and I realized that one of the reasons I like Helluva boss so much is that it reminds me of Invader Zim; I love how these series surprise me with unexpected twists, and with out-of-this-world logic and sense of humor.

I am gonna be honest here but your reactions to this is quite adorable and more hilarious than watching the pilot.

Some background info on Stolas from real life demonology: According to the real life Ars Goetia, a part of the Lesser Key of Solomon from the mid-17th century that forms the basis for some noble demons in this show, Stolas is one of the 7 Great Princes of Hell, the 5th to be precise. He's said to command twenty-six legions of demons and to be a teacher of astronomy to those who summon him. He is also said to be knowledgeable about herbs, plants, and precious stones. His most common depictions are a raven or a crowned owl with long legs (the Helluva Crew certainly nailed that part).

Millie and Stolas have a major character overhaul for the actual show. Also besides Charlie, you can also see Katy Killjoy when the sinner from Ohio is talking about wanting revenge and you can also see a picture of Sir Pentious during the I.M.P. song when Blitzø is hanging one of their targets.

Something that I think think should be cleared up for this show, which the show itself never really explains, is there are three main types of Demons in Hell. Hell Royalty, Sinners, and Hellborne. Hell Royalty are a combination of Fallen Angles, Eldritch forces, and their children. They're borderline immortal and indestructible, with the only way of harming let alone killing them being weapons blessed by Angel of equal rank or higher. Most are capable of breeding and so a full dynasty of royalty to rule Hell has been established. Sinners are humans born on Earth who were sent to Hell when they died. They can be maimed and killed pretty easily, however will go through a painful regeneration process to heal wounds, allowing eternal torment. The only way to kill a Sinner for good is a weapon blessed by an Angel, but any rank of Angel will do. They are completely infertile (with the exception of Lilith who might not even count as a Sinner.) Hellborne are Demons who were born in Hell. Hellborne can be killed by just about anything, including old age. As you'd expect they can and do have children to keep up their numbers, and largely exist as slave races to do the Royalty's bidding. While this might be getting into spoiler territory, as it's actually explained in the show a bit, Hell in this universe is split into seven rings. Sinners are confined to the Pride Ring, while Hellborne and Royals can explore all seven freely. If you want a more proper and again potentially spoilery breakdown of the hierarchy: The Royal Family (Lucifer, Lilith, and Charlie) The Seven Deadly Sins (Lucifer again, Satan, Beelzebub, Mammon, Asmodeus, Leviathan, and Belphegor) The Ars Goetia (Split into sub-ranks like King, Duke, ect. Stolas, who you met here in this episode, is a Prince) Sinner Overlords General Sinners Most Hellborne species (Like Succubi, Loan Sharks, ect) Imps Hellhounds

I’ve been loving your in depth reactions to Hazbin. I’m excited for Helluva as well; it’s hilarious. I really like how you actually pause through the video and talk about details, not only so you don’t miss stuff but the stuff you say is really interesting. Definitely sticking around. Also, normally don’t request stuff, but you’ve gotten my attention SO MUCH, imma request. Have you heard of RWBY? It’s an animation series by Rooster Teeth that’s really well done (it looks like an anime kinda but it’s not), and there’s so much to the story and I’d love to see you react to it. The animation in the beginning is a little iffy, but it gets better over time and the choreography, specifically fight choreography, is fantastic, as are the characters, voice acting, world building and story. It’s also still ongoing. THIS IS IMPORTANT, BEFORE YOU WATCH THE SHOW, THERE’S FOUR TRAILERS YOU NEED TO WATCH FIRST; Red Trailer, White Trailer, Black Trailer, and Yellow Trailer, in that order. I’m honestly really hoping you haven’t seen it because I would absolutely LOVE to see you react to the show, and I’ve been looking for someone who might actually take the time to go in depth with the whole thing. So IMP city is located in the second circle of the pride ring where the lower class live such as homeless people, Imp's and hellhounds. Imp's are hellborn and don't have a soul like sinners. Helluva boss and Hazbin hotel do take place in the same universe. Blitzø, Millie, and Moxxie are Imp's and Loona is a Hellhound. Loona is also Blitzø's adopted daughter. Millie and Moxxie are also married. Blitzø runs a company called I.M.P (immediate murder professionals) where they get a client and go up to Earth to kill the person the client wants killed. They can go up to Earth by using Stolas's (the owl prince on the phone) grimoire. Stolas is in the upper class and is a Goetia prince. The Goetia family are 4th tear on the hellaverse tear list. There are songs in the show but there not like Hazbin hotel songs. Also not all of season two episodes have been released yet we're still waiting on episode 8 (Full moon coming out in May), 9 (Apology tour coming out in June), 10 (Ghostfuckers coming in October), 11 (Mastermind coming in November), and 12 (Sinsmas coming in December) Excited for you to watch Episode 1!!!
