That's usually why in extreme sports or even sports such as golf, tennis, hockey, ect. you typically only see one specific skin complexion of people doing them. While in sports such as basketball, football, & soccer you see the opposite. It's all about the barrier to entry and if the barrier to entry is an economic one such as $12 THOUSAND DOLLARS then your obviously only gonna see a bunch of white kids riding around on their cool scifi jet boards and creating a sport out of it cuz why not

I have the early version of this. It’s from the 1960’s you ski behind it and hold on to a metal bar. Basically a 6’boat with a small rotary motor in the center.

Have you seen them used in the ocean for surfing? Only difference is you do not have to paddle by hand. Other then that they ae identical.

I imagine the only similarity is heel to toe , maybe they can incorporate some upper body movement too. Like in surfing. It actually looks really similar at times bud , do you surf?

@@marknewman8609 the difference is in the board weight. I guess you can't really turn jetsurf or e-surf 180 degrees using your upper body rotation, like you would on a normal surf board at the top of the wave.

@@marknewman8609 not at all “identical” I take it you are not a surfer Traditional surfboards, except some tow type of boards are not equipped with foot straps These boards also don’t have a lot of volume

Great innovation. All in perspective. Young resourceful kids buy cars/boats,whatevers with saved lawn mowing/fast food server/construction cash. The prized 'Junker' whatever, appears in a back yard... cash cheap. 'That kid' then uses the 'opportunity' to enrich his knowledge, learn trades, while forcing life back into someone else's discard. As result, Their future always looks brighter with possibilities....., innovations. Same series of events transfer to all endeavors throughout life. re; noted in comments, Endlessly programmed by political agenda into "Only the rich", dogma, shuts down an individual person's possibilities, accepting defeat before they even begin.. btw, been there, followed the satisfying self, 'innovative' route.., to success.. :)

Yeah when i was a kid they didn't have this stuff I couldnt afford anyhting like this BUT we did take our Schwinn stingrays and change out the forks and starting racing them and jumping them for showboat style points for the 5th grade girl audience watching. In the winter we bent and cut some plywood and made surfboard like planks to sneak out on to the closed ski slopes and pretend we were surfing on snow. We were just dumb kids following ideas that were dumb. Too bad nothing ever came out of that... lol

Jetsurfing is taken as jetsurfing, not surfing. We dont need waves for to ride we have engine. We are racing and training on private lakes only for us jetsurfers. And thank you! I appreciate it💪

Jetsurf is not like surf on waves, it is based on a straight water. Its a surf that has exhaust engine aso, and it was created by that you dont need waves

Looks like a lot of fun! I do wonder (or assume?) that winning is very much favoring the lightest rider. Maybe rather than age brackets they would/should use weight brackets/classes. Obvoiusly lots of talent involved, I'd look like a silly amateur :p

It seems dangerous to have visors on the helmets. Hit the water at speed and the visor could catch the water and snap a neck. Maybe it's just me knowing I'd wipe out more than a few times on a jet board.

Racers are mostly falling in a turns by a mistake. The board is slowly drowning down and its like a fall from 0,5m and yes if the board on turns off or other technical issue that can happen on straights on 50km/h board can something happen. Max breathless.
